These are the goodies i picked up to play with today



The end result...after much blood sweat and tears up in my roof cavity again...



I was going for...looks like its meant to be there...pretty sure i nailed it.

Think different number 1 went into rockwool just before with a 4mm taproot. Made a litre of water + 4ml Rhizo Ph'd to 5.8 poured it over my rockwool cubes. Poked a hole dropped the seed in root down maybe 10mm under the surface, gently teased the rockwool to cover the hole.

Second think different is starting to poke its taproot out, the third one doesn't look to be doing much but we're only 24 hours from being dunked so plenty of time yet.

The 2 auto pounders havent had much activity either. Time to hurry up and wait.

The house has ducted reverse cycle air conditioning in the roof space. What I've done is insulated the ceiling above the garage, then taken the nearest air conditioning outlet to the garage, which happens to be a spare room cut the duct from that vent a couple of feet back and installed a y piece, ran the cut duct back to the existing vent and then ran a new 6 metre duct from the y piece to the garage, where i cut a hole and installed the new vent there.

I did actually consider trying to set up a grow space in the roof but there really isn't enough height to do it.

The size of the insulated duct I used was 250mm, there is much larger ducting up there that runs from the airconditioning unit to the existing y pieces that send it off to the rooms around the house but by the time it actually reaches a vent it has been stepped down to 250mm. I tried to keep it simple. And the whole process was really very simple. Everything is just duct taped...thats how its done normally...First time I've actually used duct tape as duct tape lol.

All 5 seeds are now in their rockwool. 3x think different and 2x auto pounder

TD 1 went in last night
TD 2 this morning had a hook shaped tap root i tried to put her in the rockwool so the root didn't have to make another u turn to go down... I broke the tip off the tap root =( probably a 10mm tap root and i broke off the last 2mm... hope it survives.
TD 3 only had like 1mm of taproot, but it was cracked so in it went.

AP 1 and 2 both had 5mm odd of tap root.

So I'm calling that 100% germination, in about 36 hours. All the seeds have cracked and done what they're supposed to. The breeders have done their job, the distributors have done their job. Now its all on me. If they dont make it out of the rockwool, i'm guessing i did something wrong.

Fantastic job.

I will be moving into a rented home soon, and the inspections are a huge concern of mine as well. Have you considered renting a UHaul for a couple of days, and loading the plants all in it the night before. Maybe throw a fan/filter in there to keep the smell from accumulating if they are in flower. I would time it so they are still in veg. Then after inspections, bring them back in for a day, and let the truck air out.... autos aren't too temperamental, and they wouldn't be phased by the 'interruption' of a day of full darkness.

How thorough was your last inspection?

The house I was living in before this one. The guy doing the inspections did 4 others in my street at the same time and he would literally just walk through the house opening doors and glancing in as he went. Finished in under a minute. Hope this new house is the same....

I can buy a 2x2x2 garden shed for around 300 set it up in the corner of the yard. Hopefully that should suffice for inspection day

Had 3 of 5 shoots above rockwool this morning. Not bad. When I get home tonight will be 72 hours from soak

Okaaaay. Still only 3 sprouts above the rockwool, but if i peek under i can see the leaves of one more about to bust out of the shell 1mm down, and i can see pale coloured rooty goodness in the last one. Currently have them sitting 90cm under a 900w mars II LED.






Think different #1 has shown a tap root out of the bottom of the rockwool.



Into the net pot she goes just a dry bucket underneath

Think Different #1 Still waiting for roots out of the netpot to class as day 1.



Auto Pounder #1 Showed a root out of the rockwool, so went into the netpot.



2 more think differents and an auto pounder in various stages of starting out, all above the rockwool. 100% germination.



Found some old fish tank air pumps so i've got a nute mix bubbling under the 2 netpots. 18L water, 68ml rhizo and 14ml of canna classic a and b grow. Makes an EC of 0.5 ph'd to 5.8.

Water is just above the bottom of the netpot so there's something there when the roots go looking.

I'm hoping EC of 0.5 for these tiny guys is ok.
