Mephisto Genetics Girls gone wild: in my tent! - Mephisto Edition

@Hippy Ending , wowww that looks so good!! I’m pretty excited for this double grape. One of the grapelets is showing a little deficiency ... I hate to say it but this is one I see a lot of and I’m really hoping that with the supersoil I won’t see as much of it fingers crossed. Here’s some pics from tonight, they are getting fed watered by morning latest

@MedCzech , thanks man I’m gonna take you up on the help thing for sure, god knows I need it :coffee:

I got a group shot picture in there’s and the double grape in the upper right hand corner just started lookin a little rough, I gave her some foliar spray on her lowers and some fans, really careful not to spray anywhere near the buds. She’s getting fed in a few hours so I’ll probably just up the bud explosion a tad & I’ll check her runoff and see if there’s anything to see there

Some look a little wet from their foliar bath but they seem to like it, the sour livers have really woken up and showed sex a few days ago, not super smelly just yet, I guess that’s still coming, I heard the stink is legendary... makes me so excited for what I found in my mephisto order Freebies today... livers n cheese!!!!!! Oh my gosh I’ve never been dissapointed with the freebies but this caused a happy dance :woohoo1:

Trying to decide what to start in these 4 autopots is driving me bananas, how does one only pick 4, I know it makes more sense to grow the same thing x 4 but , you know how it is when you wanna grow every strain lol

I hope these grapelets are fast finishers, my jars aren’t by any means empty but they’re making progress toward it lol.. well, I also need the room for the autopots! Not the entire autopots right away, just the girls who are gonna be going in them as soon as they are big enough to turn the autopots on

Thanks dude. Honestly one of my fave smokes so far. I’m sure yours will be just as good mate.

I’m just gonna have a read back through your journal and see what’s going on with the grapelet. What’s the NPK ratio on the bud explosion?

Just had a look back through and a little look at the green leaf site. First thing to remember is unless the manufacturer gives you a feeding schedule specifically for autos, you can halve what they say. Start with 1/4 of their dose and go from there. Autos don’t eat as much as photos generally although it’s dependent on strain size etc.

How much of that Candy stuff are you using mate? I’m not convinced by such things. Yes in small doses I think it’s good. But I ran into similar problems when using AN bottled nutes and their bud candy stuff. Never used it again. It’s mainly sugars I believe? Put it in ya tea!

I gotta say I reckon the general issue COULD have originally been over feeding / EC too high. Which can lead to lockouts etc. P lock for instance. I would try a few plain water feeds possibly? For the grapelets I mean. Maybe two just water. It’s very hard to tell what’s going on to be honest, but i wouldn’t stress dude. You will get some fire weed for sure. No doubt.

As for Livers oh my, just realised you’re on the other side of the pond. Not U.K. Livers is an awesome strain. Rather carelessly named by the English fella of the same name that discovered the pheno! What a tit haha! So name changed to Blues lol. Far superior to U.K. cheese in my opinion, although suspected to be sisters as such. Far more complex and fruity and best of all, sometimes really hashy in taste! Yum!!

@Hippy Ending youve given me a lot to think about. I do feed on the low side, for example.. if I’m watering a mostly dry 2 gallon pot I use about 750ml of water depending how big the plant is, I guess that’s about average.. if the dose of mega for that week is 4 grams, I usually only put about .5-.7g of it into 750 ml. The sweet candy I rarely put more than .2 or .3 grams into 750 ml, I do use 1/8 tsp cocowet and 1/8 to 1/4 tsp of Calimagic calmag since lately I have been using distilled water. Bud explosion I haven’t used more than .2-.3 gram per about 750ml of distilled water. Maybe for this mornings feeding / water I’ll just give them the cal mag and check runoff

I’ve honestly tried a variety of different methods and levels for the greenleaf nutes and i won’t be using them after these plants finish up. The company is great, they run great promos, they have a well priced product and they ship fast, I just haven’t had the results I’ve had in the past, then again I didn’t grow autos in the past so, this has been a strange experience at times where I think things I’ve intuitively done may have been in error as I’ve had a tendency to keep incorrectly assuming how much of autos are like photos.. sure they’re basically the same thing but they have some seriously different needs and I feel like autos in general are more fickle, at least from what I’ve seen

I’ve screwed up enough plants to know that’s more often than not it’s user error but the greenleaf nutes just might not mesh with my style or preferences or what have ya, so everything from here on out is going to be going into supersoil.

Last night I chose 1 lives n cheese, 2 x 3BOG and 1 4AM to germinate. They will be going into smart pots for the autopots xl, I will either be cutting the pots in half and using about 2gallons of roots organic with amendments in each, going into 4 autopots with 1 reservoir eventually.im hoping that by only having a reservoir of water, that I can address individual plant needs with teas or foliar sprays (something new I’m trying out). I’ve been using the optic foliar overgrow spray though I’m not clear on how many times a week is good for that.

I’ll be using recharge on the autopots, lightly watered from the top once a week.is there anything I should be doing to my reservoir water (will be distilled). I wonder if I could use calmag and drip clean or is it better to just do water ? I do have citric acid to lower ph and clear up the stuff in the water not sure if that’s an appropriate use here

PS is livers the same as blues? I assumed they were the same thing and I had also assumed they were like a cheese cousin or something, but basically similar to cheese... UK cheese is one of my all time favs but I’ve not yet tried livers to my knowledge

Yes mate. The fella named it after himself and had to change it when it got on top for him! Nutter. But the exact same strain. Supposedly a similar pheno of skunk [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] to cheese. Similar but very different.

I don’t mean to patronise, but you’re in the states yeah? I very much doubt you’ve tried cheese unfortunately mate. Even here in the U.K. most cheese is actually some cross grown from seed. Your best bet is Meph. They definitely started off with original cuts of cheese and livers so that’s a darn good place to focus.

I hear a lot of talk about GL nutrients but when I last looked on their website they openly admitted to using PGRs in some of their products. Oh dear!

I think you can learn an awful lot about a nutrient company by their packaging and advertising. Who are they aiming at? What tactics? Is it like McDonalds where they’re selling shiny shit to our inner child basically? If it’s a yes, they’re twats in my unimportant opinion.

Also bare in mind you can grow cannabis in dirt. Plain old soil. Whatever really. One of mine is in 8 litres of compost that cost about a dollar from my local cheapo supermarket. She’ll do fine as long as I keep the environment good. The only issue with autos being the risk of early over feeding. But I start them in cubes to avoid that anyway.

Okay little update. So 4 more seeds were started. 2x 3 bears OG, 1x 4-assed monkey, 1x Livers N Cheese, they were started in some plain roots organic and will be shortly repotted into autopots with about 2.5 gallons of roots organic w super soil amendments.

I will start a new thread once all that is set up but I will finish up the grapelets & sour livers in this thread. I wanted to start a new thread because I made some upgrades to my spaces in addition to a new space that is almost completed (a cabinet for sour crack and other short sea of green strains, it will have an HLG100 v2 LED and is about 19x23x50 inches. Might not seem big but we don’t have a lot of extra space so I am grateful to my better half for allowing me to have this new space that will (mostly) be dedicated to sour crack. That will probably be in a couple weeks. I’m excited

The grapelets are really getting frosty and The grape smells have been replaced with almost pure candy funk, I really don’t know how to describe it but she’s so sticky that it’s obnoxious & I love it

The fastbuds girlscout got harvested and She was just shy of 100 grams wet, so yeah definitely not even an ounce. Ahh well. I’ve grown three of them by now (and 5 now from fast buds) and none have really impressed but that’s ok.. I already know I’ll be sticking with mephisto

Update: the sour cracks super soil 2gallon pots x 4 are still cooking, waiting on these 4 sour crack seeds. Their new cabinet is almost ready, cabinets definitely get easier to make as you make them, this one wasn’t too bad though I didn’t hang the fan inside, I have a kitty cornered bookshelf of sorts next to the cab and it completely blocks any ducting fan or filter from view. It will do for now. The hlg100 v2 is bright as heck, we shall see how it does ..I’m really partial to my autocobs and the only reason I didn’t use them in the new cab was height restrictions, because they’re the best damn light I’ve ever had. Here’s a couple pictures of the almost completed cab, but first there’s a picture of the recently harvested girlscout cookies

The grapelets are really starting to look yummy I can hardly control myself from stealing a tester bud, but good things come to those who wait... so we will wait.

The sour livers are stretching, super tiny plants tho. I’m probably going to hit them with some bud explosion pretty soon .. I’ve backed off on the foliar feeding for now but they are really getting that lighter green so I think they’re ready for their food tomorrow. No but explosion yet, maybe next time

The autopots aren’t set up yet, I can’t turn them on until the plant is wider so for now it’s just the 5gallom smart pots folded in half, filled most the way I would say they have about 2 to 2.5 gallons at the most. They are in roots organic with some super soil amendment , they just went through a harsh transplant due to a miscommunication between me and my sweetheart (no biggie! I got more seeds I’m dying to pop anyways like this white chem freebie that came with my s recent order). They are 2 x 3BOG , 1 4AM and 1 Livers N Cheese...

The seeds are sour cracks, hopefully longer tails by tonight, I like longer tails personally I’m sure planting it straight to dirt is superior but I’m nosy and I Ike to watch lol

So I’m not sure how much time the grapelets have left but that girlscout cookies plant yielded a disappointing but stellar tasting less than 25 grams of bud, which is almost gone, and yes we already smoked all the sweet n sour, sour crack, and forgotten cookies.... so 1: I need these grapelets to finish soon and 2: I have got to get better yields because I can barely support our outrageously gargantuan smoking requirements

The struggle is real folks. Hoping the super soil can coax more buds out of my gardens. Between that and the extra yield the tiny cab will give, hopefully we won’t be running out. It’s 23x19x50, so the inside dimensions are probably more like 21.4 x 17.4 x 47... but the that HLG100 light pulls between 90-100 watts from the wall if I recall so, my goal is to get the cabinet dialed in to 1g/watt .. I don’t feel that’s overly ambitious and i wouldn’t mind having enough for some edibles too, I find edibles to be the best for my nerve damage and I’m able to function very well on them , as long as too much isn’t eaten edibles can be quite clear headed

Sorry for the ramble, I blame the girlscout cookies

Here’s a quick update.. one of the grapelets got harvested. I took for because we already finished everything else. And because I wasn’t sure what to make of her trichrimes.. the others didn’t have amber everywhere like that, weird. It was the crinkly fimmed double grape. The two remaining seem to have some time left. The one I took didn’t “look” that done but, being out of smoke isn’t an option so here we are

The sour cracks all sprouted.. the seed with two taps gave two sprouts... gonna let them be for now. They’re very tiny cotyldons ... if I don’t see some size increase soon I might get worried. The twins are growing just fine though lol

My sour livers entered flower but I had a crazy work week and a nitrogen deficiency just snuck up on me real bad, I should have been on top of that but she got a good dose of mega crop, and her first feeding with some bud explosion too.. so she should perk up soon hopefully

The 4 seeds in the tent (2x 3BOG, 1x 4am & 1x LivErs n cheese) seem to have survived their transplant.. I found one fallen over yesterday and went to straighten the stem and it just fell out of the dirt with a little root .. luckily not all the root broke and I reburried it. It is larger this morning than when I reburried it so. Fingers crossed it took to its new pot. When these are big enough into the autopots they will go.. by then the 2 double grapes will be long gone and hopefully the livers will be finished or close to it so that the 4x autopots canhave the tent to themselves
