Grow Mediums General Hydroponics nutrients for autopot coir?

LoL thanks for all the wisdom guys!

I totally agree on the equipment statement. I think you will find genetics tops light in the yield department. The entire system in balance will yield the best results and you will get a lot of pushback on your philosophy of using inexpensive nutrients. In a blind taste test my panel of professional chef's picked the weed I grew in H&G over Dyna-Gro. The Dyna-gro actually had a bigger yield over H&G but there was a distinctive better quality to the H&G.

in regards to the nutes I will probably buy the more expensive stuff once I get 2 or 3 grows under my belt or till the one gallon bottles of initial nutrients are used up. Perhaps I would be more experienced then to get the most out of the premium stuff.

It is incredibly difficult to give some let alone all the answers to a new grow.

It is a tangeble thing that you need to see and experience, work with basic common scene and ramp up when your experience and confidence grows.

Have seen very well read new growers fuck things up because of to much to soon!

Honestly the KISS philosophy is never more true when growing canna, get good at it with just those little additions you learn along the way.

And never get to cocky lol! I have ruined entire grows because I stepped away from my proven methods thinking I've cracked it lol

I am sure I am gonna mess up a lot the first 2 grows lol II am ready for the learning curve just like with growing mushrooms in the past took me 1 grow to dial things in and some dead substrates. lol But YES! I am one lazy mother fucker so I want to keep it a simple as fuck! hahaha hence the autopots and nutes that don't need phing!

Absolutely @Mañ'O'Green a modest yield of properly done buds beats a cluster fuck any day!

Hell yeah I love top shelf weed but if my first grow is too bad to smoke hello bubble hash and edibles hahaha I love edibles too! sometimes I think more than smoking or vaping but you are out for 10 hours though which is a drag if you have unexpected encounters haha :chef::dizzy:

Time is easily overlooked until you get older and you wonder where it went (well I know some of it was lost in a total stupper :funny:). Anyhow if I am going to spend precious time growing some bud I want it to be all it can be within my ability to make it happen. WAIT is that OCD?

I am with you on this sometimes I stop myself from being a perfectionist.

You've got trouble now with 2 vets talking you up!

No excuses! We want to see good simple and solid growing, no getting the crazies ok?!

Edit: the GH FloraNova is hella concentrated, don't fuss on the big bottles if you want to experiment after getting going!

For your personal grow and how much you consume in nutrients. If you compare the cost of AN to GH how much savings would that be an estimate would be ok. I just want to know the savings vs the hassle of ph'ing lol and if it is worth the hassle compared to the savings.

They cost about the same to me, the GH 3 part costs the same as AN sensi bloom and I end up using about the same amount of each for a grow. The only add-ons I use are overdrive for the PK boost and calmag.

I was thinking also AN's packaging looks more discreet and doesn't look like fertilizer but food supplements.... hmmmmmmm :pop:

I've been using AN mutes since starting this hobby and like yourself am a relative newbie. I cut out most additives and just use sensi a&B Voodoo, piranha, that's it, these are at day 30 with no issue "yet" that " KISS" advice is the best advice

I plant whisper so a bit loose with advise but goes something like..

Day 7-10 = 0.2 EC
Day 10-28 = 0.5 EC
Day 28+ = 0.8 EC
After stretch = 1.0+ EC

It's not true organic, it has mineral additives but if you wish to cultivate friendly bacteria and fungi it and the additives they recommend should not kill them.

The 3 part Flora series calls for a different range of additives. As does the Coco range, that said the FloraNova can be used with any medium and is about as simple as it gets

If you have a PPM meter and are to broke to afford yet another meter, can EC be converted to PPM? or am i going to have to break down and get an EC meter?...

Ah yes!!

There is a conversion chart.. problem is the ratio of conversation differs from the US, EU and Australia!

So if you use TDS or ppm the values could vary depending on which formula you use!!! Up to 30%!!!

:pass:

You'll note that there are two scales in witch to convert EC to PPM. Try and find out witch scale your PPM meter uses the 500 or the 700. Once you do that this chart can help you. :D

Yes!

The problem comes in when the nute company quotes ppm for their ratios! You won't know the factor that they have used!
