New Grower G14 and AKR

Appreciate all help. I do give cal mag. My biobizz also isnt derived from salts it has calcium as well. I just think the soul itself just isn't meant for what im.doing. one way to find out lol

Well... after @FullAuto245 pm'd me and doing some research for me. I decided to look into this soil more... and all I can say is damn. I should have just went out back with a shovel lol. Sounds like this is very common from what I've been going through and others. Also, got my first raised bed done and got 33 square foot of the 48 square foot planted different varieties but 192 carrots , 144 onions, 36 turnips, 36 Daikon radishes, 64 French dressing radishes. Still got this bed to finish and then gotta get my other bed and garden area ready for stuff I plant in may.

You should be able to dial it in fairly quick with a few waterings of adjusted ph the prob is waiting till you can water again to check and readjust everytime but being the info you found with there soil being low ph I would check your runoff ph every single water from start to finish.

I think BP is correct. I would ask Tyler also Without the experience in soil take what I say with a grain of salt.

Your down to 4.0 and 5.0 on the run off right? You almost need to go up two whole points. Just applying common sense my gut says to Ph up 2 points higher than what you were watering at until you get the ph right. Then I would use a buffer suggested in those threads. That way it keeps it locked in. After that I would never buy it again lol!

sounds good to me. I'll just check daily. and as far as the soil never again. wish i had other options. Can't believe they sell this soil like this. Fox farms should know better. They know what most people grow with that soil.

I'm not really qualified to comment on the soil as I haven't used it and I haven't touched my ph pen since it came in the mail. But I suppose I have my opinions anyway. :smoking:

From what I've read, it seems to me that FF had growing pains(the soil became popular) and lost track of quality when demand required that quantity increase. It used to be good, but it's not now. But, it's just a guess. I'm growing in 100% organic soil I got at home depot and we'll see in six more weeks or so how it does. I hope I don't have to find canna specific soil because it's just not going to happen for me and I'm too lazy to do any type of hydro.

I think I'd get a cheap soil ph tester, or spend the money on the one wiara likes. A cheaper one may not be accurate to exact ph but you could at least see if/when the soil ph swings as it swings. But, it might be hard to justify buying even a cheap one if you move to coco or hydro. I bought mine a few years ago for my vegetable garden. Vegetable like proper ph too.
