It said to add 1tbls for every 4inches of diameter so I put a tablespoon in each cup.

there must be a volume measurement somewhere here the math will never work out because you need to take the depth of the pot into consideration

Here's the directions for the sulfur

Hey man. That still just seems like a lot to me. I was just talking to Muddy about how to mix my powdered sulfur in with my Promix. I actually am going to be using BX, too man because they were out of the HP.

Not really knowing exactly how it will react, he recommended I do a test say with three different pots(1 gallon each) And mix in different amounts into each one and label them. Mix in increasing order for the three pots...something like 1/2 tsp, then 1 tsp, then 1 1/2 tsp. Water and test like I said before and after 5 days or so you should be able to gauge how much to use from telling the differences between the three pots with different amounts of sulfur.

Now mine is powdered and will be faster acting, but I will be starting my tests with this tomorrow and will let you know how it goes for me. But I say try the same tests with yours. Better safe than sorry. Sure you want to get your beans in there and going(so do I...badly) but if you put them in and your ph is off, you're just screwing yourself with later problems, stunting, etc.

Maybe someday we'll see a pH adjusted soil mix made exclusively for growing weed. But today it just doesn't exist. Most off the shelf soils are general purpose so the manufacturers aim for a neutral pH of 7. I'm afraid you've added too much sulfur to your mix and your pH will likely go too low. I'd consider transplanting them to some new soil with a lower amount.

Why does everything have to be so complicated? I wish there was a soil I could get that I didn't have to adjust the ph in, I mean it seems like every little thing is a battle, my first soil had slow release nutes which was no good so I get ffof and that turns out to be too hot for beans so I get promix and the ph is to high I mean geez I can't win for losing here... sorry for the rant guys I am just frustrated :(

Put the gun down!:crying:
It's gonna get better. If you need cheering up, go look at my pitiful attempt from time to time. I'll update it this weekend.

I noticed a post from Muddy in another grow journal that said you could crush those Epsoma pellets into powder and mix into the soil for faster absorption. You may be past that point already, but it's worth noting for the future.

in promix you shouldn't really have to adjust it too much... it is almost like hydro in that regard.... just start seeds in it with not water and roughly follow FD' fert sched:

if you have FFOF and promix, start in a 2" x 2" x 2" plug of promix inside FFOF in your pot.... so it unferted for the start and grows into the ferted soil... this is my recently updated method now... albeit not with FFOF.... but same concept...
I start in 24 oz Dunkin donuts cups... fill the bottom 2/3 with my (grow mix) soil and the top 13 with promix... plant and water with plain ph'ed water @ 6.5

hope this helps mate :smokebuds:

fd... WHEN YOU SAY HIGH FERT SCHEDULE... WHAT ARE WE TALKIN HERE? WHAT STRNGTH AND HOW OFTEN? (REALLY STILL TRYIN TO GET A HANDLE ON THIS CRAZY-REDUCED FERT SCHED FOR AUTOS... STILL ADJUSTING!)
what i mean is that not all autos are the same lol
I have been growing the same genetic line for over a year now
and they all seem like they really like my fert schedule.

This is what i doi break it down as follows

First off let me talk about what i use as ferts. I have a 4 part system that i use and most of this is in the brain so please bare with me as i share this one.

I use FF grow big (hydro formula) Tiger Bloom and then two tea variations. One is high in N for veg and the other is high in Phosphorus when its time to flower.
I apply these through out the grow. I use the FF to get it started.
then i move to the teas and then back to the FF and then back to the teas

So i break it down like this:
FF GB is 3Tbsp/1Gal for heavy feedings. So in my mind this is more than enough for our fave friends. So it states that 2tbsp/1gal is for normal feedings so i use this as my base number. After that i break it down into 1/4

at 7 days i start like this
Day 7 1/4 dose to a gal
Day 14 1/2 dose to a gal + 8oz of N rated tea
Day 21 1tsp GB and then 1/4 of TB (bringing in the TB)
Day 28 1/2 TB + 8oz of Phosphorus rated tea
Day 35 1.5 tsp TB to a gal
Day 41 2tsp of TB and 8oz of Phosphorus rated tea
Then Flush till finish unless it needs something at the end.

I think that this is everything that i do like i said i am not sure as this is all in my head. If the plants demand more that i give more this is just something to go by. I usually do not swap in clean water feedings at all over the fert program. I just use the jug then its gone. Now if i start to see over feeding or lockouts ill flush.
But if i keep my water on point i never usually see a lock out or toxicity.

Hope this helps

I'm pretty sure that the ph problems somehow stem from me using vinegar and baking soda to raise and lower the ph, the ph in one of the cups was over 8 and correct me if I'm wrong but there is no way it could rise like that from plain r/o water so it had to be the vinegar or baking soda.

Hey bud quick question you are using white vinegar right the brown cedar vinegar is no good
