Thanks for following, I hope mine make it but the runoff ph is very high no matter what the water ph is so I have no idea what the problem is.

Hey man. Just saw what was going on. You can try getting some powdered sulfur at your local shop or nursery and working that into the top inch or so of your soil and water them. After a few days and waterings it should bring your ph down some.

Ok, do you have any idea why my ph is so crazy? Im using promix and from what I've read the ph is usually low in it, Im not using any nutes and Im adjusting the ph using vinegar and baking soda.

I don't know about Promix BX, but from what Muddy tells me, Promix HP is always about 6.9-7 out of the bag. He adds sulfur to the mix to lower it. This is the exact same thing that I am about to do for my new grow. I will be checking the ph and making sure it is dead on before I even germ my seeds.

Also, I would get some ph up and down. That baking soda can kill the beneficial fungi in your soil.

Not a problem. Upon further looking into the two, the only difference I saw really was that BX has perlite and vermiculite... and HP just has extra perlite. Both have the lime, macro and micro nutes and wetting agent, as well as the Canadian Sphagnum peat moss of course, same %.

Straight Pro Mix, whether it's HP or BX, is usually right around 7 right out of the bag. If any amendments, like guano, castings or manure are added, they will lower the pH some. But if you're using it straight, unamended, they a little garden sulfur will lower it. Straight Pro Mix is considered a semi soil less mix and seems to work best when the pH is maintained at around 6.2 - 6.3.

Thanks for the help I think the vinegar Im using might be the reason for my problems, I was wondering if when I buy R/O water from a store will the ph rise in it after its been opened or will it remain the same?
