Day 45
Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ....... Plant Sleeping !
So welcome to day 45, really I should say "Night 45" as this picture is of my sleeping caramel plant, 2 Hrs into her 4 Hr off (night) cycle, I opened up the tent and snapped this photo with flash.
She is relaxed and sleeping, her leaves are resting.
Caramel
I run my lights 20Hrs on / 4 Hrs off... There are many views on what is the best light cycle for Autos, and I have my own opinions, but that is for another thread. There are many growers that have more experience in that area than myself and can reference experiments with differing on/off light times.
However, I will just say, I believe my plants appreciate a rest from the 1000wt light battering I give them and I think 20/4 is about the right balance.
I also believe that they get accustomed to a regime, an hour before the lights go off she starts to droop a little (almost in anticipation of whats to come). When the lights go back on, she slowly starts to wake up and return to her praying display again after 30 mins or so.
Temps and Humidity remain perfect, (where I set them), although more airflow has been required to stir up the Humid cooler air at the bottom of the tent. I noticed some slight condensation on the lower walls of the tent.
Prevention is better than cure, so to avoid any chance of mould or rot, a small clip fan has been added at the bottom of the tent pointing 45 deg up. This circulates the cooler air up and and around the tent.
Some additional defoliation has taken place and opened up the bud sites even more (and aided airflow).
The two Amnesia Haze are at the back of the tent hidden by the size of this "Caramel Monster" who currently is around 4ft high and 3ft 6" wide.
More Pics in a day or two.... I have ordered a new camera just to get some better quality pics.
Todays Tip:- If you use an air pump, the chances are it has a little built in filter, remember to clean the filter every month.... It really makes a difference as even a slightly clogged filter greatly reduces the amount of air delivered.
Thanks for all the likes and comments Guys & Gals.... It warms the cockles of my heart (especially as winter looks like it's here).... and more importantly, gives this Journal a sense of purpose.
