Indoor Frank does it again….

I tend to go overboard on things  But 2” foam board does the job :rofl: 1/4” probably would have worked :rofl::doh::doh::rofl::rofl::rofl:

I just asked BC about how well her heat mats work on pots of that volume...

They do ok but not as good as I'd had hoped. They do a great job of keeping the bottoms of the pots warm but once you get away from the mat the heat drops considerably. I run a 20"x20" in my 3x3 and a 2x4 in my 5x5 and my temps are still low 70's not as warm as I'd like for seedlings :toke::pass:

I get the majority of my heat from retention.. I use the door to the grow room like a big check valve, regulating how much heat gets retained in the room from the exhausts, or how much gets let out (the ductwork dumps out just inside the door, facing out)… once I got the rhythm down, how much to open or close and when, it started working pretty dang well. I can keep the big tent cool enough, and little tent warm enough by adjusting both fans, the flaps, and the door. :pass:

Yeah I grow in my basement which isn't huge by any means but it does stay little cooler than the rest of the house. I use a small oil filled radiator heater just outside the tents but try not to run it constant just to save on electricity. During the winter if I can keep my lung room at 70-74f I'm content like you say the biggest issue is when their young and lights are dimmed way down. Once they get older and the lights are running decent wattage the tents regulate a lot better. :pass:

As I noted, I am unconcerned about nutrient sediment/non-dilution; see no need for additional equipment (reservoir, air pump, etc.). Anything undissolved initially can dissolve/leach-out (or not) on its own in the media. I mix up nutes as needed, feed drain to waste and don't do much with mixing other than following a prudent order of adding each.

Just trying to make the point that many growers' fixation on not having any nutrient sediment at all visible is not really much of a concern, unless there is plumbing, tubing, valves, etc. involved (presuming the order of adding and other basic aspects of the mixing of the specific nutrients being used are done correctly). As you noted, even with constant mixing, there will unavoidably be some cross-reactions among nutrients forming insoluble precipitates.
Ya,I left my nute mix sit out for 24 hrs and didn't notice any change to be honest. My PH however rose a few decimal points to 5.8 ish.Thinking about just running it as is and not bother to bring it up to 6. Promix hp and MC is what I'''m running.Sorry off topic.Thanks.

I've used these Walmart specials inside the tents for a few years. I like them because they only consume 300 watts on low, they have a digital display, and built in thermostat. They do a great job keeping the tents consistently nice and toasty... But...I do have my eye on the new Thermoforge T3 heaters AC Infinity has recently released. I'm planning on purchasing a few when they're not on Pre Release status.
