Im a newbie and as above im about to start my first auto grow of 4 think different dutch passion using a 120x120x200 with a 6" filter and fan,one 600watt sodium and 15L pots, does this setup sound good enough.

I also need to know if autos have 24hrs light all the way through,if not when do i flick them, cheers

it is best to run autos 20/4 from seed to finish, some do 18/6. 12/12 can actually stunt the growth

will the 600 sodium be enough light for them and can i use it for the veg stage if i keep it at the top of the tent?

yeah sounds good. As you get a feel for it you will know how far you can push the light proximity as they get bigger. Go easy on the nutes to start with and check out a few of the grow diaries on here just to give you a feel for auto's if you are new to them. You should get a great result if it goes well.

I grew three tundras with a 400 and a cool tube will help if you dont have one, I have been running some tests on my cabinet, and now I have two fans, one 150mm ruck to vent the cabinet and a 125tt to pull through the cool tube. You should have a LOAD of bud with 4 plants under a 600

Yes mate it's. The pots seem fine too. I give my plants 20/4 light cycle and it seems ok to me. I've seen growers giving 24 hours during vegetative stage and them switch to 20/4 during flower and have great results too.

One advice from a newbie to another: you can tie a thermometer at 1 feet of the lamp and you can keep that distance for the plants (for seedlings i keep them a little bit more far away). But if you can keep them more close to the bulb, better it's! This trick has help me a lot, and saved me from burning the plant. I've a friend who started growing at the same time i did, he didn't pay attention to the heat and he ended up with a stunted 3 inches plant of 1 month old lol. It's amazing the difference in temperature that you can get from 10 inches of the bulb to 20 inches.
I've started a plant with CFL and after i switch to the HPS i didn't notice how much heat it was until i got a thermometer! It's like a "must-have-tool" for growers, especially newbies.

I use a 600w for my cream caramel girls when they are in flower (400mh for first 3 weeks tho) and they love it, one thing i would say is that they def need the lights off period as they tend to droop if not given any rest, i do mine on an 18/6 schedule and get a good yield per plant. Good Luck with your auto's, you will love growing them :booya:

hi dman like you i'm new to auto flowering and as soon as my photo's are harvested like you i will be growing think different under a 600w sodium in the same amount of space so if you dont mind i will follow your grow to see how you get on good luck m8

thanks for the replies guys,i've got a thermometer already and now im thinking about 18/6 instead of 20/4 as im using a 600 hps,i wont be starting until 2weeks as im drying my previous grow of 4 caramel's,2 vanilla's & 4 white rhinos grown with two 600 hps,all regular fems,i would have loved to use LED's but it too complicated plus on this side of the pond they want an arm and a leg for them damn LED's so im utilising what i've already got..

out to willreflex no worries man,i'll keep you updated

Just thought i'd add that the soil im using is Plagron Lightmix 100% Terra,Terra Vega,Terra Flores and Rhizotonic, all of which are CANNA.

I haven't seen anyone using these products so i just want to check if they're ok to use

All input and recommendations are welcome
