Flushing: The Myth that won't Die

Actually, I think a look at nutrient level vs available light is something that needs a closer look. I had an interesting experience that began my interest in this. I was growing with a Vipar Spectra "675" watt ( 435 actual ) light. Now you'd think that would have been plenty of light for a single plant, yet the plant became N toxic... at 425 ppms of Seagrow, an organic based nutrient! Same strain, under cob lighting and she looked perfect using 650 ppms. I currently feed my plant Megacrop and the highest ppm I use is 600 for one particular plant which seems to like her drink....lol. All the rest get 475-525 ppms and look great.

It also pays to pay attention to breeder descriptions of a strain ( when they even bother to give enough info.... grrrrr.... ). what color are the leaves suppose to be? If you have Sativa strain known for its light green foliage and yours is medium to dark green, your over feeding it! Nutrient toxicity is not always apparent until you see clawing very dark green leaves, yet for your strain, medium green could my your over feeding. Its things like this you learn as you gain experience.
Very cool man, couldn't agree more. Getting to know your strain is a good point. I've been growing the same seedstockers amnesia strain for awhile, some 30 plants, I don't measure anything anymore, just use my eyes.
But just as important as knowing the strain is knowing your nutes. I've used the same for more than 2 years and no sales blurb is gonna change that. If it ain't broke I don't fix anything and I don't see much room for improvement
Some pics from today, all amnesia, they usually average 250 g or so with the occasional pounders

I re-use my coco also, I find it no different then in previous runs...Just as stable, no issues I give a really good flush(hahaha the topic peeps argue over) But I also do flush my plants towards end of grow, but not what you'd consider a "flush" what I consider a flush at end of grow is the last final days to week just plain ph'd water not an actually flush really no need if done like that.. But, also I think this subject people get a little carried away saying flushing is myth, I am not sure I believe that...Everyone run's different setup's,different style of nutrients many variables.. I don't know why some who insist it's wrong for them of us who do...I know if I run out of time and don't get a certain amount of plain water through then I do flush with enough to make sure, but i surely don't go crazy...:pop::bong::hippy: Some of us do Like chemical Nutes and if done correctly you couldn't tell the difference between chemical grown plant or Organic I'd put my stuff up to the challenge...:yeahthat:[/QUOTE?
Now I'm a hydro head through and through. The thought of growing in dirt terrifies me. But.. I tried my first bit of organic frizzy duck the other day, grown outside in England. There was a massive difference in the smooth factor straight away. It hadn't been cured long. Couple weeks maybe and it was one the smoothest smokes I've ever had.
If I hadn't just spent 3 years mastering hydro I'd give it a go but it's just too much of a learning curve to go through all over again. Could definately taste the difference like. Massively. Never realised my hydro weed even had a chemically taste until I tried it. Never had a complaint so it's pretty good but now that I've tried non chemical grown I will officially bow down and admit that organic weed is better :(
It pains me but gotta be honest. I'm a changed man lol

maybe there could be slight difference between hydro & grown in coco since I have a buffer with coco and you not have any...I can assure ya man if I put some organic next to anything I grow 9 times out of 10 you'd be making a random guess coz ya honestly couldn't tell the difference...I swear...

I do coco aswell, tastes the same as my full hydro stuff. I wouldn't even say it was a chemical taste, it's hard to explain but it's there like. There's a tang maybe, kinda coats your mouth with a flavour, something i enjoy but that wasn't there with the organic stuff. That just tasted well, natural I suppose. It was wierd.
Fuck it, you know what I'll try it this year for myself and see if it's just me.
Usually sort my old man out with a few for the greenhouse so I'll chuck one in too :)

Give it a shot, I know if I leech my coco of any nutrients at end of grow I can honestly say there is no-way to have known..I prefer these style nutrients vs organic only bcoz I like be highly involved with my grows and can tweak things just how I need too.I have pretty good success..

Yeah I'm the same like. Don't like the idea of just leaving it all down to a pot of dirt. Just doesn't sound trustworthy. Need a botany degree to do well with the stuff. Much easier to just follow numbers on sticks lol

yes, plus we do growing differently...we shouldn't be criticized for ways that work for us... Maybe for them there is no benefit but to say we don't get one, well is just wrong.. We use what works for us, this route isn't for everyone, but i certainly don't say people are wrong for choices they make and expect the same in return:bong:

First time Grower, and Just now Getting over an OverWater issue and that was only a tad bit of water, No way would I dump Gallons of water through my Pot. I always knew I would go with the 10 days of PH'd water at the end over H20 Choking my Roots.
