Flushing: The Myth that won't Die

I’m in DWC and for the last two weeks I crush an entire bottle of multi vitamins and add it to my buckets. Once I no longer buy it see any sign of them I assume the plants has absorbed them. Now all my edibles and tinctures contains a daily dose of vitamins.

I was at the grow store and saw the Berry/fruit additives for flavoring your weed so I figured I would try something myself. For the last week on some plants I will empty the buckets and refill with beer( cheap is better) this has really helped me speed up the finishing of the plant. Usually they will turn brown and wilt within 24 hours telling me they must be done. Downside is I piss a lot more smoking that weed but I get it two weeks sooner.

I can't recommend this procedure, it's too complicated and labor intensive, even though the results are spot on

Personally I use a mix of castor oil and Monsanto's industrial strength Roundup® for the final flush and it work wonders, in hours...:crying:

Interesting about your excessive drainage situation, you could try adult nappies, tying a bowline knot or maybe changing the brand of beer you use :chimp:

Still better to feed to the end.

One arguement I've seen is "you don't have to flush organic plants because they use up all the nutes before they are done" Well that's only true in containers, and then only when in pots that are too small or they haven't been top dressed. What about outdoor plants grown in the soil or raised beds???........ I call bullshit on this too.

and all this time I have been calling my flush the wrong thing. simply switching to water in the last 2 weeks is my preferred method as well.

Your really missing out if you don't use arsenic as well!

i've never tried feeding until the end. this is something i should give a shot maybe? i've always done it this way and not thought too much about it after.

Do you still get a nice fade when you fertilize right to the end?

If you feed to the end, you may not get fade unless you flower longer. Look at the bud guys on here get when they let their autos go 100_ days. The "fade" you get with flushing is merely your plant starving.

great video! thanks for sharing! i love that migrow guy :)

I have seen and heard enough for me to be willing to try feeding right up till the end. im doing living soil this time(a first for me!) around, so they don't need much since it's supposed to already be there for them.

When I wasn't top dressing soil (use to grow in coco) I fed till the last 3 or 4 days but would only give enuff water to saturate well for 2days and 2days in dark i dont flush ever now in my organic pots I top dress 10 to 12 days before chop then water but ya flushing doesn't make sense unless u are seeing problems as a result of ph or high ppm/ec

But you would not do a "Final flush" of water for a week in coco? You could feed up to chop in coco and no flush at all and be okay?
