Flushing: The Myth that won't Die

I've been carrying a $20 bill for 3 years now that nobody has won....... anyone who tells me they can tell the difference I bet them, they can't. I've never lost the bet. Its like the guys that say they can "hear" the difference between $100 speaker cables and zipcord. BULLSHIT! And that one has been disproved with scientific tests...........

yeah it tastes the same to me like, ill not be getting your $20 iether lol. do you ever grow hydro pop? she said it left a coating in her mouth wich i suppose it kinda did but i liked it and it nver tasted chemically or anything so put it down to coincidence.

I can confirm here that I've not flushed my plants at the end of the cycle and wifey here praised how smooth and clean the vape was. I do DWC. Didn't tell her..

I am thinking that you may not tell the difference on flushed and well grown cannabis, but I bet you can taste the one that has been overfed like hell. I think this is where the myth got its roots perhaps? People overfed their plants and then flushed at the end? I dont know, just pondering.

Ok. I am just fooling around here, but there still is one argument for flushing at end. If you cannot tell the difference on flushed and non flushed cannabis, why waste the nutrients for those last weeks? ...perhaps you still got a bit better yield if you dont flush?

I've grown hydro with GH nutes ( ugh ), organic nutes, but my favorite to give samples of, was using some $0.99 miracle grow imitation. Taste it in hydro? nope and I'm willing to repeat the grow to prove it again. now, maybe its how I grow, I feel all the "bud enhancers" and Bloom booster are total bullshit also, so maybe if you feeding your plants so much nutes you've about poisoned them, them MAYBE........ However, the whole shtick about "chemical" nutrients is mostly a lie also. WHAT chemical is that your tasting? veg and bloom nutes are elements and minerals that the plants need, some need to be reduced to their "salts" ( look it up ). Its mostly some of the micro nutrients that need it. Guess what most companies use? EDTA. The very same EDTA that is organic and certified food grade and found in 90% of our food. Can you taste that? Nope. Whats happened is the power of suggestion, repeat a myth like this often enough and people start to take it as gospel. Then, when you try to tell them they've been mislead, you find it difficult to convince them. Thus this thread. NO, you can't taste what is NOT there!

I have two blackberry gums. Different phenos but i could give this a try as i grow alot. I have alot of friends that are very crirical when it comes weed. If it aint really good, they dont want it. 1 of the plants will get 10 days flush/rinse and the other one will go with nutes all the way to chop. This could be good for me to know aswell...

The only way to prove it is prove it to yourself! I hope I see more people at least trying this. You should see a difference in your plant from the rest also, likely have more weight.

I will test it for sure. Have other girls aswell, can see if i get two of the same pheno so they can go for the same amount of time just have one on water and one with nutes.
If i get more weight, bigger buds if continue with nutes im sold. I will make sure to not overfeed the ones will go for the test. Or i just run them as usual... not changing a thing except the flushing.

chop coming soon so I will feed to the end.
yea I always flushed out in hydro,then ran water the last week.
i'll just keep feeding her this time, easier on me too !

I just let the EC run down and top up the water at the end so long as it doesn't mean adding pH down instead of nutes.

As you say, it makes things easier and you don't need to plan harvests weeks in advance based on a guess that they will be ready.

Hey, just saw this. Very cool, I will try without flushing some plants. If it mean larger harder nugs like the guy above say, then I will get used to new taste, haha
@pop22, I bet you I can still taste a difference but could be better or worse or just different, taste is individual. Around here every dude flush like a good drench first then just water,save a few quid on food, cool but maybe also save on yield, not cool. Haha
Can't wait to pass some full feed buds around and see what peeps say.
