Flushing: The Myth that won't Die

did you try this one out mate?

I had 2 plants of the same strain, was gonna try it but it was two different phenos. One wanted a much higher EC but i only had 1 tank between those two so one of the girls was underfed all way through preflower/bloom so shes been running on her reserve all the way.
It would not be a fair and correct judgement as the buds are so different, also the underfed girls lacks chlorophyll.
To do this fair both girls has to be equal in health, equal green when starting to flush vs going nutes all way, or i think so anyway.

But i can clearly see that there is way bigger and healthier/good looking buds on the plant wich has been given food until 5 days before chop.
In the past i have stopped with nutrients way to early, that wont happen again.
So yield-wise keeping the girls well-fed as long as possible is definitely the way to go.
Do not cut your nutrients until you lady is done!

Yield = :greencheck:
Taste = unknown/error

From my experience with DWC I've concluded that the plant's requirement for feed goes through the cycle in a kind of a bell curve that is leaning to the later parts of the cycle, regardless of the strain or phenotype. Gradually increasing the feed during the vegetative period, landing to peak feed at the early generative period and continue the peak feed until the buds start to swell and after that you usually see the demand of nutrients going down gradually to what it once was around day 25 or 30's.

I think many, as I did before, make the mistake of forcing the feed at the peak until the end even though the plant doesn't want it. Reducing the feed at the end has improved my yields. Now I am not saying you should do flushing or nothing but keep the feed that ensures best conditions for osmosis. I've run several grows not flushing in the end now and I say there is no difference. My patient here is always mentioning how smooth and tasty the stuff is.

well I remember when I did bottle feeds,have flushed many plants. with less water than they required but flushed all thesame. the first organic water only with a solid dry and cure for several weeks was many MANY times better than flushed smoke or non flushed smoke. thats been my dealing over the early years. thought it was the bottled feeds and it was . . .Some,but the rinsing of siad medium with a good proper dy and jarring with curing for 2-5 weeks depending,thats what makes good bud ime. but too each their own. plus its a huge waste of a natural resource.

If im not taking to big place i would like to show the two girls i was going to do the "taste" test with....

This girl was underfed her whole life

And this is the girl who got the feed as good good as i possible could do

Im sure the buds will be great on both girls but as seen i cant do a fair test.
The girl under was given full feeding and with 5 days of water and got this look. IMO thats how a plant ready for harvest should look like. I will try photos my next grow and i will go with cuttings from the same mom so i will show you guys the difference of bud-size and say if there is any difference in taste.

@pop22

Hey there. First off I just want to say that I really appreciate the information that you have brought to the forums as I have seen you give multiple tips and good info out for the community and it's amazing.

Second off, I am running a sog type passive hydro hempy 2liter grow. My plants are near the end of their grow cycle now..today is day 58 of flower and I was about to start flushing as both of my strains finish between 56-63 days(golden cobra and cookies and cream).

Going by your advice I should be feeding the nutes I have been feeding this whole time until I chop?

Since mid flower or before I've been feeding @ 1/2 strength Lucas formula along with 1ml of floralicious plus(800-850ppm)

I have 7 clones, 3 golden cobra and 4 cookies and cream. All of the cookies are similar in size and 2 of the Golden Cobra are same size. I'm thinking about doing a little experiment of giving just water to 2 cookies while feeding same regime to the other 2, and then flushing 2 golden corral to 1 not flushing.

I honestly would like to just keep feeding until cut but my head keeps saying I have to flush.

I just chopped one last week,fed right up to chop,thx pop

I am so glad I found this site .... Man some of the stuff I read about cannabis makes no sense to me.
