What you will learn about growing is that every issue, effects the final product. 99% of the time you will get buds. What they taste/smell/smoke like is another story. Bud production slows.. Same with trichomes.. That's kinda why you're on week 9 and are still thinking you have about a month to go (things have slowed)..
If you use ro or distilled water you don't need to add anything extra. That's where new growers often mess up. The reason behind using ro or distilled water (0 ppm) is so that there is nothing extra added to your nutrient mix. The nutrient line you choose to use should have every single nutrient needed, in the appropriate ratios. Using tap water with a nutrient line is a muddy situation, that's why most don't do it.
You can get a purifier and it will lower the ppms of the tap water.. But you have no way of knowing the ppms of each element in the water. It's a guessing game at that point. Rain water has many variables associated with it. Different types of clouds produce different concentrations of rain.. But in general it's usually about 200 ppm.
