Hi all,

Hopefully somebody can help me. I'm on day 36 of my first grow. Details are:

Seeds: Pyramid White Widow Autos
Soil: Canna Terra Professional Plus in 6lt pots
Lighting: 600W HPS with cool tube
Ventilation: 280m3 fan as well as a small oscillating fan, average temps 25-30 celcius.

About two days ago I've noticed my lower fan leaves turning yellow on all of my plants , as well as spotting on one. I'm thinking its a possible nitrogen/calcium deficiency, although I'm sure someone with more experience may be better able to diagnose them. I'll upload pictures as soon as possible.

Has anyone any thoughts? Hopefully I can salvage these, I've grown attached to the little guys! Thanks

Yeah, looks like they are starving. You didn't mention any nutrients, I assume you are feeding them this far along into the grow. The soil you are using is limited to starter nutrients capable of supporting growth for the first week or two and that is about it.

Also, make sure your pH is in check, should be around 6.3. My guess is, it is a bit high, but only a guess based on the thought that they haven't had much nutrients which generally helps keep the acidity in the soil.

If you have a feed schedule you have kept up with, post it up and I will see if I can help you figure out where it went wrong and how to get things back on track.

No feed schedule to mention really, last watering was yesterday (plain phd water) although I do have biobizz grow and bloom here if needs be. ph is around 6.5 (tested runoff with a growth tech ph kit so I don't think nutrient lockout is an issue)

Thanks for your time!

Perhaps you can add to your response to A4's questions pH details, i.e., measurement and how obtained.

W/O that info and knowing nothing else, it looks like N deficiency to me. I've also grown WW four times tho' not Pyramid and found them needing nitrogen ("some") though early flower. "Your mileage may vary."

LOL, you answered my pH questions before I finished my post!

So your pH is fine... FWIW, if they were my girls, i would treat for N deficiency.

6.5 is wonderful.

Yes, it definitely needs to be. I would use 2ml Grow, 3ml Bloom per liter of water for the next two watering. If you have some cal/mag I would suggest a light foliar feeding to overcome the calcium deficiency. Calcium isn't transported very well from the soil and you need to get the plant happy quickly. Foliar in this case is the quickest way.

I couldn't ask for more :) although would I risk burning them with a nutrient dose that high in the next watering?

As large as those ladies are, absolutely not. I looked at BioBizz website for their grow schedule and that is right in line with their recommendations for a plant of that age.

There is a lot of misleading information on the forum from several years ago, in my humble opinion. Autos from a few years back were very nutrient sensitive and care needed to be taken with the nutrients. Now that the breeders have had a chance to increase the photosensitive genetics in them I wouldn't worry about following a photo feed schedule for them and adjusting as needed.

I grow all of my autos on the same feed schedule as my photos and very rarely have any problems.

Went ahead and watered today using the above recommendations, runoff had a PH of 6, should this worry me?.

Unfortunately Cal/Mag isn't available locally so picked up a bottle of Pro-Cal.

I'll keep the thread updated as they progress. Thanks for all the help so far!

Did you take a measurement of your nutrient solution prior to feeding? If so, what was it?
