Now, we need to teach you about the joys of flat white paint, and reflectors for those CFL's :smoking:
not sure bruh.. and thank you.. so using the foil pans as reflectors is a no go..? and is using flat white paint better than the mylar i have up..?

I definitely agree with RR on the flat white paint, the cheap emergency blanket mylar isn't as reflective transmission wise compared to high quality mylar, works in a pinch and is better than nothing but a pure flat white paint with enough proper coats is better than the thin mylar, which if you have ever put some up to a light you quickly see how much actually goes to the other side.

Plus unless firmly glued down completely flat, it will create pockets and folds that bug and bacterial can form in due to the humidity of the environment, plus once it gets dirty that's pretty much it for it.

Plants looking healthy though so keep it up

Reflectivity wise for light

aluminum foil is in the 50-60ish % range
pure flat white paint 80-90+% with proper coats
High quality mylar 90-95% but also reflects heat, and can be hard to clean, vs painting another coat if needed
thank you for the info mr sparkle.. im looking for another box for my next grow and ill use the flat white with that one.. not sure how much it would be and time consuming to rip all mylar out and repaint the box.. but im always down for a challenge.. just wants whats best for my girls and i love all advice and feedback

UPDATE:.. took some pics right before the lights went off.. blueberry jane is spreading out nicely under the scrog.. and mystery mary broke my twist tie lst.. so i had to use garden rope..

Buy a grow tent! I'm with ya on everything, trust me, but the two things I'm absolutely updating are my lights (going to led at some point) and a grow tent. If you hit the right place, you can get a combo deal at a fantastic price. From my perspective, the tent/closet cost differential is negligible whereas the pain in the ass to ease and speed ratio strongly favors a premade, professionally lined , thought out ventilation tent. Plus then you gotta seal the closet, wire it, ventalize it.... Just my 58¢. Looking good!

i want one but nowhere to put it and the box is kinda getting to be a problem for my gf which she cant sleep when i want to attend to my plants after ive been gone all day.. i have a spare room but my kids sleep in there when they come over.. so i dont want them meddling around with the tent messing with it and such.. im just going to have to stick with the box.. till i can figure something else out.. maybe i can talk her into a tent.. but the power it draws already for the box.. is alot.. have to find a seperate wall than all the other appliances just for timer and lights as it was kicking my bathroom lights off.. maybe on a hope and a prayer she may say yea.. just have to get the right lengths and hope its a little more quiet than what i have setup right now..

UPDATE: Checked on my girls gave them a really good comb over didnt see any pests but that doesnt mean they arent there and cut that fan leaf that was eaten up off found a few more within the plant going to look over them again today after work..i took some pics moved the lights up and put sticks in to measure the height of the plants..
