New Grower First time grow with 'Early Miss'. Photo and time lapse video:-)

Nice looking set up you've got going now Star, I wish my other half hadn't seen the tent seams :)

At least it's an Apollo Horticulture tent so it's reasonably priced ;)

Ok update:-)
Day 8. I did a time lapse video and I didn't see any movement or growing upward....I hope that's a good thing. No more stretching, at least not yet! I didn't see TOO much leaf growth, but tiny new ones are coming in and the plant that was lagging behind is now catching up! I'm thinking maybe they are now focusing on root growth seeing as how I just potted them down deeper to fix the stretching issue.

I have named the faster growing one (and the most active one on the previous time lapse) *Persephone*. She started out from seed a little curved and has been developing her leaves at a faster pace until yesterday.

The second previously slower growing less active one is named Serena. She started out of her seed quite straight with a longer root.

Here are some photos from today. Persephone is on the left (with the PH/Moisture/Light probe in the pot) and Serena is on the right (with the temperature and humidity gauge in the pot) :-)

Looking good man, and that set up! Damn!
You threw that together in a matter of days, you're plants are going to show you the love you deserve back dont worry :)

Patience is key, and dont get too caught up comparing your grows to other journals, it can drive you a little bonkers for no reason!

Keep it up bro!

Peace + :karma Cloud:

Thanks Kxvyvxw! When I get serious about something, I go all out. My hubby is just rolling his eyes cause the tent is practically in the middle of the kitchen! However the first thing he does every morning is run and look to see how much they grew, so that's cool, ha ha!

I am SO trying not to compare to other journals! I am just so worried they won't be done by the time we travel south. I have secured someone to help out if that is the case, they have experience too, so that's cool:-)

Day 10 update: I have been letting them dry out a bit because I overwatered in the beginning. I have a crap tonne of ventilation going on in there so I wasn't too worried, however today I spotted some fine white fuzz on the surface of the soil. I think it may also have to do with a mushroom grow that went bad....perhaps some spores in the air, ugh! I took and spoon and removed the top layer as best I could. Gonna let things dry out a bit more!

The ladies themselves look great. Starting to see some serious leaf growth finally! They went to town last night it seems:-)

These were taken before I removed the white stuff.
Anyhoo, should be getting some nice time lapses now!
:-)

So I was away for a couple of days....came home, and holy moly, they are growing up!
Tomorrow they will be 2 weeks old....!

Day 15 Update!
Holy smokes, they are picking up speed. Looks like Serena is now winning the growth race. Slightly bigger new leaves (the one on the right):

Wow, incredible to see how fast they grow!

I've noticed there is quite the smell at this point. Thinking about getting one of those fans with the filter. Someone was saying in the reviews on Amazon.ca that the fans are super loud and that a fan controller will help with that. I have no idea what fan controller to get....any advice?
I am just venting to the room....

Thanks:D

Hi Star, Some fans are, and some fans aren't.. And, a fan controller will help, just by reducing the speed (and noise) of the fan. I had to add some rubber washers to the wall mount of mine- that reduced noise to a whisper, from a loud purr. I know Grozone makes versatile fan controllers, but I'd recommend getting a "right sized" fan and carbon filter, and see if a controller is needed. A bunch of folks build a box around their fan, if needed, too.
Btw, lovely little Ladies you're growing :) My Blue Velvets and Durban Autos are at the same age- just about to really take off, too. Best to you!

Look for a 4" rvk fan, 4" ducting and a 4" carbon filter.

There are loads to choose from, some fans are 2 speed now, no idea what they are like. If you want to reduce the noise on a standard fan you'll need fan controller that controls the amps $50+. The cheaper controllers cause a humming noise when you reduce the fan speed.

Heya! Thanks for the info....!
I will look up that brand. I found fans on amazon.ca, which offer me two day shipping (sometimes overnight to my location). But then I'm kinda stuck with the ones on there. Will do some research. A box around it is an interesting idea. Hmmmmm!

And thanks, I just love them! Do you have a grow journal or pics of yours? Would love to see them and your setup! EDIT, sorry just saw your sig! Checking it out now! :-)
It is certainly a very exciting hobby....I think I am doing pretty good for a newb....I thought they'd die in a week or something! :-)
