I am gonna be growing 5 Russian Rocket Fuel Autos in 2 gallon pots, without nutrients for about 3 weeks since this will be the vegetative stage for an auto. I will be using Tiger Bloom and Big Bloom at 1/4 strength and possibly working them up to 1/2 in weeks 5-6. I want to use week 8 as a time to flush the plants and feed them just water so I can harvest as soon as possible, I want to get a minimum of 14 grams per plant ( 18-32g is listed, but I know it's possible to get 100+ if veg'ed and flower for extended periods, but I want a short quick solution) I will be using about 10, 27w (2700k) CFLS since I hear you should have at least 40w per plant, it will be in a closet, but will have a large fan cooling the bulbs and top of the plant for air circulation. Does anyone see any problems with this grow?

Hey Dopy, Welcome to AFN! :peace:

Sounds like a plan. What kind of soil are you using?
It sounds like you might be on the very edge of the minimal amount of light for those 5 plants. Sounds (to me) like less than what might be considered ideal.
If it's possible, you might consider trading a few (or more) of the 2700k's for 6500k's. They absolutely LOVE the Daylight bulbs.

Best of luck to you!! :smokebuds:

Thanks,

I would be using Fox Farm's Ocean Forest soil, I don't want to transplant as they are auto's.
I'm trying to keep this grow under 200$. Do you think 3 6500k and 9 2700k would help?
I'm gonna be in 100$ for the seeds, pots, and soil alone, 30-40 for lights and fixtures, 20 for Mylar.
Is there anything else recommended? I won't need a pH meter or PPM meter since I have distilled water and pre-pH soil, water, and nutes.

I know what you mean about keeping the costs down. Yes, the more cfl wattage the better and the more 6500k's the better.
You might want to seriously re-think that about the pH meter- distilled water does fluctuate. The difference between 25g per plant and 10 gr per plant could be as simple as a few drops of lemon juice. Without a way to measure your Ph you wouldn't be aware!

Well I clean a pool during the summer and have to test the water, I could always take the pH strips and test the pH that way.
I was told 1:4 or 1:3 for 6500k to 2700k since 6500k is used for veg and 2700k for flowering and almost 3/4 of an autoflower is flowering, if it has a 2 week veg cycle.
And since this is my first alone I want to be able to medicate, reimburse my costs, and invest my profits into nutrients for Super Soil and into a 400w grow light, so then I can grow larger and more plants.

the foxfarms nutes will drop your ph quick and may i suggest you search for the "samples anyone" thread i think its in the first post its a free 1oz sample of great white mycorrhizal

Still sounds like a good plan! :D

That is theoretically correct, about the mix of bulbs, but as you browse around the forum, you'll see that many cfl users use more, if not exclusively, 6500's throughout the whole life cycle. Check around, you might convince yourself. ALTHOUGH, I must say that my last grow was done with only 2700's. I only added 46w of 6500's during the last few weeks as side lighting. My Easy Ryder did fine, and if I hadn't messed around with some unneeded LSTing, she would have given me even more than 30gr dry.

But ~54w per plant sounds so borderline, I would definitely recommend more 6500's. Or maybe even just go with only 3 plants?

Welcome to the forum. Sounds like a pretty good plan that you've got. One suggestions, be careful starting your seeds in straight FFOF. Because of the worm castings and guano contained in that mix it can sometimes be too hot for seedlings. To be safe, most who use it mix it 50/50 with some Light Warrior. I would also suggest that you get a carbon filter. RRF has some diesel in it and can get quite smelly. Without a good filter your whole house/apartment is going to smell and may bring unwanted attention to your grow.

i suggest, and swear by, RAPID ROOTERS to pop your beans, and the absolute best for cloning too!

Is there any auto that has a relatively good smell such as lemon or fruity smelling that won't stench like RRF? I was thinking about getting Pineapple Express Auto from Barney's Farm.
