Indoor First Time CFL Grower

A lot of projects going on at once... I'm one of those 'in too deep' people, always doing a ton of things at once. :p I have 4 plants flowering and about 23 vegging, haha. 3 flowering under LED&206W CFL and one under a 600W HPS. Rest are vegging under a 600W HPS

With that other 200W CFL dude you're going to get some KILLER nugs. Just remember to rotate the plants. Smart man thinking ahead on that one.

September isn't far, any plans on what kind of seeds you want to grab and breed yet?

Christ you have alot going on... How do you find the LED lights? Have been looking in on TShirtNinja, he is building some setup there. I've been taking a look at LED's myself, thinking of doing a mix like yourself. Maybe next year. What's your opinion on them?

As far as what seeds I may purchase I haven't had a look yet, will probably ask around here and go with the recommendations and try some new seeds/breeds if there are any also, just to make it interesting. If you have any ideas on future grows let me know...

great stuff bro cant wait to see that ladiva fatten up

Another quick update, so I have moved my 2 Speed Devils into the flowering tent with the 2 La Divas, it's getting pretty crowded in there. Pity I don't have a bigger area... I switched on my second 200w CFL yesterday so that's 400w of CFL in there now, would love to add 2 or 3 small lamps on the right hand side but there just isn't enough room. I'll just have to rotate each plant 180° and possibly rotate each plant around the tent. I have been tucking fan leaves on all 4 plants and it really seems to help the bud sites shroom up.

So, my 2 La Diva's are now standing proud at 33days of age, I think these guys are going to be big enough. The La Diva from the above photos has grown 8cm in the last two days, see previous photos. The speed at which she is growing is crazy, I move the top lamp up every day now. Both are looking quite healthy, don't think I'll be feeding these guys again perhaps I will closer to the end. Delicious Seeds say they do not fare well with nutes as do other members on here (cheers for the heads up Asi).

My 2 Speed Devil's are now 27 days under lights and looking healthy, thinking about starting them on nutes next Monday, will do a search for info on them until then. Just to see how they cope with nutes.

Meanwhile back in the batcave!!! My Red Dwarf seems to be taking it's time, it must be getting lonely now in there on it's own. I was planning to have some ladies seeding and some ladies prepping for harvest at all times but I may have some visitors in September, need to confirm this before I start germinating more.

Some photos:

Would love to move the new 200w CFL up a bit but it will only burn the fan leaves on the 2 La Divas, also I can see now that I won't be able to use 11,5 litre pots as I have done with my Red Dwarf as there simply won't be enough room for four or even 2 11,5 litre pots with 2x 5,5 litre pots in the flowering tent. I'm already pushing it with 4x 5,5 litre pots. The lack of lighting on the right hand side of the tent poses a problem but I may rotate all 4 plants, maybe this will makes the plants think it is hot for two days and slightly cooler for the next two days when they are not so close to the side lamp. I'll give it a go anyway.

Below is just a quick shot of the Red Dwarf in the vegetative box under a 125w CFL, she seems to be taking her time at 12 days old now.

Well that's it for now folks, I'll be back soon with some info and photos. All in all I'm quite happy with my progress so far. I'm amazed by the speed the 2 La Diva's are growing. Very excited.

Keep it real.

Those plants are looking great! Truly bonsai buds. I'll be following this one to the end. Good luck!

i have to agree man, this is a great first grow for anyone. i will be tuning in to see how it turns out. my only bit of advice, do not get greedy and snip a piece to try early, let it ripen up before you cut, and dry and try to let it cure some before you smoke. i say this with confidence because i did it myself. do you have a good microscope or anything to check the progress of the trichome maturation?

awsome bro they are getting big sweet as
goodluck mate

Hello there AFN, haven't been on here in about nine days now so I thought I'd post a an update, everything seems to be going fine with my first grow, as far as I can tell anyway. Check out the photos below of my 2 La Divas that are now both 42 days old. One has sprouted up while the other is quite smaller, this doesn't worry me though. They are both looking quite healthy, both are a beautiful green colour.

So here are the two La Diva's the larger one on the left is now standing proud at 57cm (22.5 inches) the smaller one on the right is 40cm (15.7 inches)in height.

Below are some more pics:

Despite putting a 250w CFL low on the right hand side of my flowering tent lower branch buds seem to be taking there time, hopefully they will grow a bit more during the remaining time left, I have started to feed (organic nutrients and organic boost) the 2 La Divas again despite the fact they are not meant to fare well with nutes, so if something goes wrong I have only myself to blame. I don't expect any shoulders to cry on! But they seem to love it so far. I won't be feeding them much though maybe once a week I'm thinking.

I decided to trim the smaller La Diva top down, you may see this in the photo. Was thinking what the hell I'll give it a go anyway, did that 3 days ago and she seems to be reacting quite nicely to it, buds are thinkening up nicely but staying nice and tight. The larger La Diva has been growing so fast it's hard to keep up with her, I must admit there were times i didn't pull the light up from her early enough. Using CFL's you really do need to be there every day to put some distance in between the light and your plants.

Anyway I'm off to eat, I'll post some pictures of my 2 Speed Devil's and my Red Dwarf tonight.

Talk soon.
