I have 6 seedlings that are nine days old and have been out in full sun (10+ hours) while I get my grow tent in order. They all have their second set of true leaves, two or three are working on their third set. I have a 4'x4'x80" tent and bought a 1,200w Marshydro LED. I have a SunBlaze 44 that puts out 54w from a previous grow.

I don't want to waste the electricity if my plants don't really need the extra watts. I will be planting them in 5 gallon buckets from Solo cups today or tomorrow (I know Autos can be finicky with transplants, but I wanted to bring them indoors at night so critters and bugs don't get to them). Should I start them with the SunBlaze until they grow another couple sets of leaves or will they benefit from jumping right under my powerful LED? I was thinking of starting with the LED 3' above them to get them acclimated.

Here they are. I'm using a coco coir/perlite mix that doesn't have too many nutrients. I decided to add a small dose of FloraNova vegetative nutes a few days ago to put a small amount of nutrients into the soil. Apparently the Jack Herrer seedling (far left) didn't like it very much and growth has slowed some and leaves are a lighter green than the others. Won't add anything new until around week 3.

Redneck, looks like your message got cut off.

Just set up my tent (no easy feat considering my tent fit in my grow area with almost no room to spare). Going to transfer them into their forever homes soon! I'm leaning towards cfls at the moment, but if anyone thinks I should jump right into the big LED 20/4, please let me know!

:yay: Lighting Strike!!! Powers is back on.
Really? I twitch and short post you? :face:

Brother, we'll work you through this, but it sounds like you really jumped the gun. I love that kind of enthusiasm!!
(Hard lightning again, gonna have to shut down) quick skip to next quote!

Autos are finicky at times, amen. Put them under the light you plan to use, keep it on the high side, and dial it down.:coffee:
Gotta shut down, big 'uns here!!

Thank you for your help, Redneck.

I transplanted them into 5 gallon buckets and put them under the LED. The light is around 4 feet above the plants and they look very happy so far. I figured since I was using a LED I could vent into the basement closet I was growing in, but temps got up to 86 so I redid the vent to the outside (temp at 82 15 minutes later). I decided to keep both lower vent holes open on my tent to suck in cold air.

The Berry Ryder has been growing vigorously so far. I seem to remember it being one of the first auto varieties so I wasn't sure how well it was going to grow. Jack Herrer seedling has been my only disappointment so far which is unfortunate because it's what I'm most excited for!

Excellent plan! :d5: Our Jack Herrer was some awesome smoke, but I stunted the poor thing attempting the tier method. Looking good, Giant, Karma for your gals and a :slap: for you! :pass:

A shot of the freshly planted seedlings. I was worried my chickens were going to hop up and snack on them when I turned my back. They were very interested!

It has been in the mid 80's here lately, so I'll probably go out and pick up an oscillating fan today. I'm using a speed bully to keep the cfms/noise down, but I can boost it up if need be. The seedlings didn't have any trouble when it was in the 90's in full sun, so I'm not too worried about it.

Although I've heard otherwise, I'm not super confident in the hanger that came with the MarsHydro. One of the clips that attaches directly to the light was bent slightly because it was at a slight angle when I tested the hanger. It took quite a bit of patience and finesse to get them locked in right and attached to the tent. Going to get some chains and extra carabiners today.

I'm very happy with my Apollo tent, but there were a couple of disappointments. One of the lock-in mechanisms was missing from one of the support beams, so I had to use gorilla tape to keep it secure. It's pretty much locked into a 4x4 area, so it isn't going anywhere. The zippers can be tricky and get caught often, but seem to be of high quality.

I think I'll start lowering the lights tonight or tomorrow. Thinking of keeping the lights around 2-3 feet above the seedlings.

I think I'm needing to update my 'puter, I can't see your pics right now.

Go with your gut, Brother, and make it bullet proof. Lights do fall, the results are seldom good, and usually the first thing you hear is "I thought it would hold.

Don't hesitate to contact them and give your honest opinion, and ask them to send you the missing piece.

1200w is a beast! Take it down, and look for signs of bleaching. Experienced LED growers would give you better info, and I ain't.
This would be a great place to ask https://www.autoflower.org/index.php?forums/led-section.220/ These folks will know if you can drop down to 2 feet right now or even 18".
