New Grower First Indoor Grow....Ever

:smoking: AJ, what's good mate?
..that's some pretty advanced Ca defc. there,..gotta hollah sooner man! Ca defc. can advance quickly, partly because it's poorly mobile within the plant, so internal resources are not really available for scavenging,... Sooo, even if you've been using Ca-Mg supp's it may not be enough to meet demands... these are automatically high for you because of the coco's CEC hogging of it (and Mg to a lesser extent), and you're using a powerful LED light also known for elevating Ca demands,... how far from the tops is it? LED's can be tricky for intensity issues which can mimic heat/low RH stress (see the slightly curled edges/margin teeth), but not cause the obvious surface burning and edge crisping,.. just a liiiitle too much and these symptoms start to manifest, including apparent bad Ca defc. sometimes,... The fact that's she's drinking a lot is a hint that transpiration rates are high as she struggles to cool those over-ramped upper leaves that are in close proximity to the light!
... CaliMagic is fine, and you're early dosing was very mild, so upping it is needed,... are you using RO or Di water? How's the pH in there?

Yeah I was thinking I had it under control she is probably 20 inches under the lights. I did notice last night she was not drinking as much pot was heavier and it did not take a whole liter to get run off. Using RO water and PH is spot on (5.6-5.8) learned my leasson on this last go around. Lights are around 20 inches away. Problem now is there is so much showing its hard to tell if it is slowing. Is more than 5ml per gallon unheard of? This did advance super fast probably in a little over a week I was giving 2ml per gallon and I upped it to 3 then 5. Just wondering if I should go higher still the other three are fine. Would they have adverse effects from extra cal mag?

Thanks again for all your help.

:smoking: Ca defc. is a little bitchy to correct, and by that I mean halt (damage doesn't repair)...it'll take a few days to halt; Ca is poorly mobile within the plant, so it can't translocate it from mature leaves to where it's needed at the tops... I hear you on the difficulty of assessing progression! Pick a few good sample leaves, with light to modest damage and watch them; more hammered leaves may tank-out anyway! As for dosage, sure, more is OK if you're only at 1tsp (5ml)/gal,... that's what's on the label (not the feed sched'), right? I forget! I'm using the "organic" version, GO CaMg+ which is all carbonate based,...
I have two recommendations for you: inoculants (Recharge is getting rave reviews here) to keep the 'crobes population up, and help cycle nute's... And look up Mammoth P online, and request a free sample from them (hugely generous deal BTW); this is also an inoculant, but entirely different from the usual line-up in others,.. their 'crobes are selected for P and micronute' cycling, increasing availability and uptake-- also getting rave reviews, including mine!.. Saved my ass this last season outdoors,... :woohoo1:

Well seems to be time for an update. Below are the the pictures for my Nirvana Northern Lights. A side by side and you can see they are very different. The one on the left (we will call her NL A) was low stress trained at first, I just bent over the main cola and kept it low letting the other branches go wild. It created a bushier plant with a ton more tops. The one on the right NL B was just left to grow. She is quite a bit smaller with less tops.

The biggest difference is in the main cola. NL A has a larger main cola, probably double the size of NL B with a few crystals. When you look at NL B the cola is much smaller, but it is the frostiest plant in the whole tent. They both have a very floral smell (a good low odor strain). I would like to add if your looking for a beginner strain this one is it. If you go back and look through the thread you will see the ups and downs of this first indoor grow. I had a severe PH issue Tempature issues and calcium defficiency the other two strains have taken a beating. These two just keep chugging along without much issue.

Next picture is the Sour Diesel Haze from Seedsman. I am kicking myself on this one. I caught the calcium deficiency very early and knew what to do I just did not execute well. I should of doubled my cal mag, but instead I raised it 1 ML at a time. Rookie mistake I know better now. The plant is stocky and has big super dense buds with a spicy earthy smell. I will get some better pictures of this one next time.I will run this one again shortly now that i know she becomes a calmag monster in flower I will be better prepared.

Then there is Nirvana Blueberry Kush. I am going to start charging this bitch rent. She is big and keeps getting bigger. She is listed as a ten week strain I knew i was more than likely going longer than that, but we are at ten weeks and I don't think she is close yet. Maybe I will post some close ups of the buds tonight to see what others think. I did LST her the same way I did NL A just pulled the main cola down and ran it across the container. She has a ton of tops and has a very what I would describe as a piney smell to her. Similar to a spent hops smell if there are any brewers out there.

Hi @Waira
Like this thread and likes your gongora... a quick question, would it benefit a plant to use camg supplement from the start at the prescribed rate to insure it stays in order? I have some here. I find these autos grow quikly and it's hard to chase the chemistry around. (I did the orchid thing for a few yrs.)

That's exactly what I'm trying on my first grow.

You need to put an @ symbol and then put Waira's name then he will get alerted on your post. In my opinion You can do 3ml per gallon in veg when flower hits I should of raised to 5ml From the start and adjusted up if needed. Now that is using Calimagic in Coco with COBS that cause more cal consumption.
