New Grower First Grow!

Hello all. I have learned quite a lot through this site before I began my grow...so I thought I'd share my experiences with the AFN community as I move through my first grow.

I am attempting two Short Stuff Onyx and one Delicious Auto Sugar Black Rose (freebie). I'm growing in my crawl space...humidity, ventilation, and temperature are non-issues.

-20/4 lighting under 8 bulb Quantum Badboy T5, will be using for flowering as well with LED supplement

-5 gal Smart Pots w/ Sunshine Advanced Mix #4

I plan on using the General Organics GO Box for nutrients...which leads me to my first set of questions!

When should I start feeding these plants? After the third set of leaves? I plan on starting at about 1/4 strength so I don't burn them...anyone have experience with nutes in Sunshine Mix?

Here are some photos...exactly one week old today. The first is the Sugar Black Rose, the next two are Onyx.

I use sunshine mix and dont bother with any nutes till atleast 2 weeks in, and when i do i go very very light. Idk if im doing it right myself but ive had decent results, after 2 weeks or so i start the chart one week 1 at half strength. I use a different line if nutes so i cant comment too much other than the plants should be fine on just water for up to about 3 weeks. GL and welcome to afn!

Day 9. The first pic is Sugar Black Rose, the second pic is the bigger Onyx. I could actually detect the faintest of good smells up close to the Onyx! [emoji103]

Day 12 Update and pics! Sugar Black Rose is looking lush. One of the Onyx is taking off, the other is a bit behind but I'm not worrried about it one bit (yet). The Onyx seem like they might want their first dose of nutes with their next watering. The first pic is Sugar Black Rose, the next two are the Onyx, followed with a group shot. What do you think so far, AFN?

Hi Darsh,

I'm on day 60 of my first grow. I use the GO box nutes as well. Great stuff! I waited two weeks before using them and I started at 1/4 strength. I'm now up to 3/4 strength and feed them every other day. When I first started, I only fed them the recommended nutes once per week. I bet they would've gotten much bigger if I had used them at every feeding.

Here's a picture of Thelma (Dutch Passion Think Different) and Louise (Big Buddah Cheese). I started in organic soil (no ferts) and use a Mars-Hydro 300w and supplemental CFL's.

Thanks! I am pleased with how they are turning out. They are not very tall (about 22") but they are really bushy and have compact buds!

Yours are looking great! Nice and healthy. This is really fun (and addicting)! You will find yourself rushing home to check on them and peeking into the tent every few hours - lol!

Thanks for the advice Jane and Duckster! Not sure about your name but I'm a big Ducks fan! And indeed I'm rushing home and checking on the plants every few hours! Lol
