New Grower First grow with DIY kit

...ahhh, no wonder about the germ' issues-- I'd bark at that shop about those old tired seeds! Having them on the shelf after 2 years is dubious, yet alone 4+ :nono:- and stored improperly... that is unacceptable! As a consumer, if you can, always check for yourself too, to make sure some clown doesn't foist-off half dead beans on you- :finger:... seeds stored cold dark and dry can keep for several years and still have some viability, but past a few, it's starts to taper off regardless...
-sounds like you have some good stuff already! Zambeza is of unknown quality to me,... Sweet of course is brilliant! And that J47 is arguably their most potent strain, very Sativa-dom., so keep that in mind... it ain't night time meds! :coffee::dizzy: .... Stone and NW are excellent breeders, with a genuine focus on medical aspects.... have you visited the Portal and looked up the strain choices for matches with your hubbies needs? If and when you order, let him know you're a referral from AFN by Waira, or whoever got them on your radar! Stone will be happy to know,...:toke:
The guys in the shop thought they'd be ok, they were happy to give me freebies when I mentioned it the next time I was there. It doesn't matter now, I'll be buying direct or from a seedbank in future anyway due to change in location.

I've had a brief look in the portal but I'm having to watch what I spend so it'll be later in the year before I get anything. Can you give me the link again though? I've seen various Fairy Frosts and trail's Moon Tears, I want to get some but... I have to wait. I'm not brilliant at this patience thing I tell ya LOL.

Ah ha this is your thread then! I've read a lot of it after stumbling across it accidentally [emoji3]

But I remember now. Canaries. CFL. Hubby Meds [emoji3]

I will definitely follow and learn if that's ok with you [emoji3]

And hubby high too, not just meds.

There won't be a huge amount more in this one, I'm down to two plants - the one with the atypical deficiency and a Zambeza Blueberry younger plant which hubby said we should carry on with for now. We're not staying out here past the end of March unfortunately but we're making the most of it while we're here! If Blueberry finishes in time, great. I hope she does!

By all means follow, you're very welcome! The WW and SSA pic is around here somewhere, take a pinch out of that and skin up!

Looking good sir. I see a couple things to comment on
That seedling looks like its sitting in water, is it? It really shouldn't be if it is.
Fill your pots with soil, your plants will love you for it. The soil packs over the grow but initialy settles pretty fast especially after watering. To minimize this I fill the pots full, pick up the pot a few inches and drop it several times and then top off the pot, drop it once or twice more then I Plant my meds. Don't manually pack it down.
I have not grown with CFL's but I'm thinking the light would be best used if it were spread out a bit creating less shadows.

Happy Growing! :vibe::pass::vibe:
You would like the cfl as close as possible, without harming the plants. The light penetration of cfl is suboptimal.
You will get good bud. My first grow was with cfl. If possible, it would be good with some side lightening when the plants grow big. Also, you should tuck away leaves as the plant grow, to uncover lower budding sites.

Happy growing!

Thanks @Dr. Babnik ! The lights are as close as they can get now, without singeing the leaves. This is my only grow like this anyway, as normality will resume for the next one when I get access to all my equipment. @witchyhour has suggested about the side lighting too so I shall look into that. Cheers for popping in!

She looks rubbish but the trichs are only just starting to go milky, she's about a week away from chop I reckon. I'm too ashamed of her to take a pic!

Haha don't be ashamed! If she's only a week away I don't think it really matters how bad she is! [emoji3]

OK here's the scruffy b*tch, atypical cal deficiency halted, but damage done, mystery Sweet Seeds girl, day 73:

And here's Zambeza Blueberry day 44, she really didn't like getting a soapy water spray when I had the whitefly problem, so she probably won't reach maturity before we depart this place:

We have MAX 66 days before we're gone, but it'll likely be less than that. No I'm not starting anything else here, it'll have to wait until we reach the next location.
