Hi everyone,

I'm in the process of putting together a PC grow. I have gutted out a case and will be sealing it up. I have the LED lighting sorted out. I will be using 6 Bridgelux EB Gen 2 strips which should put out about 6,000 lumens at under 40 watts. The grow area is 17" x 6.5" x 17".

I've decided to go with Nirvana Blue Mystic auto due to many reporting very low to no odor. Will it be possible to smell proof this grow? I don't want any detectable odor when entering the room that the case is in. I have seen many DIY carbon filters but they have mixed results. Some say it works and others say is doesn't. I would really appreciate some advice on the best route.

Thanks

Carbon filters are a must for smell but it won't start to smell till the buds show up.

I think what you meant to say is
17ft x 17ft x 6.5ft
But to answer your question , a exhaust fan with carbon filter will remove smell yes
But in a room that larger i assume you're growing quite a few plants it will take more than some 440 cfm exhaust and filter .

All cannabis plants smell , even the "not so smelly" smell come deep flower time 1 smells like 6 and 6 smell like 12
Every time you open the door it will let out smell , especially during flower .

The pic is a 8" version .
I use a 6" in a 96 x 48 x 80 tent and it works well

Happy growing

It's a micro computer case grow lol. The dimensions I gave are correct. The carbon filter needs to be done with a 120mm PC fan.

I apologize .
I misread , haha , i grow some good weed .
I guess that 8" would probably suck the leaves off your plant then .
I would love to see some pics when you get it up and running .

You will want an inline fan and filter for odor reduction, not counting when you open case. Another option would be to run an air purifier in front of the case. I use one when I harvest. The air purifier gets rid of the odor much faster than when I wasn't running one.

I wish that was an option. I need to keep everything inside the case. I can't have external fans and filters. I have not found a compact carbon filter that I can mount inside the case.

Going to try the micro grow style before I decided it would be wiser for me to grow in a tent, but the YouTube videos I watched were from Intelligent Stoner. You can probably make your own carbon filter, but also look into can filters if you're not on a budget.
