New Grower First Grow - Northern Lights/Pineapple Express/Sweet Tooth (Autos)

Well originally I was using a 6 inch duct booster for exhaust. I got it for 25 bucks off ebay.

I then realized I should have just got a real fan and I'm an idiot for trying to be cheap. lol tried to be cheap and ended up spending even more money because now that duct booster is just sitting in my closet.

So I bought a real 4 inch inline centrifugal fan

http://www.amazon.com/VenTech-IF4-I...&qid=1402716780&sr=8-4&keywords=4"+inline+fan

I had the old fan just sitting in a 6 inch hole in my tent and blowing air out. When I got the new fan I installed some duct and made the duct go through the hole in my tent and around to the closet door. Now I have exhaust blowing out of my closet door instead of blowing directly into the closet. I also removed the 6 inch clip fan I had blowing air from outside of the tent into the bottom vent of the tent.

I leave the closet door open 24/7 unless someone is coming over. If that's the case I turn off the fan and close the tent vents at the bottom so no weird led lights come through the door haha.

I think all of those things combined have brought me to 79f. The temp in my house is a consistent 75f as well. I hate the heat so the AC is always set to 75.

Edit: These things also raised my RH a few pegs as well. I was originally around 36 but now it's more like 40.

Thanks for the info. I have a 4" in line fan already, and I'm seriously considering cutting a hole at the bottom of the cab so I can have a bit more passive intake in hopes that it will drop my temps a few more degrees

Yea, I have a vent on both ends of my tent and I keep them both open. I wonder what would happen if I closed the one that's on the side of the exhaust haha.

Well my plants are still really small and don't seem to be growing out much. I see about 3-4 bud sites on each one.

I definitely thought I'd see a bit more growth over these last few days but it didn't really happen much. Oh well! I think for my next grow I'm going to make sure I buy a ph pen and take my ph more seriously and be a little more hands off. Hopefully it goes better.

I've started to tuck leaves so the bud sites get more light. Will see how that goes over the next 4 days.

I've thought about doing some tucking, but don't really know the technique, so I think I am just gonna try my hand at some scroggingn this time, and the next go, I will try to go with tucking and scrogging. I just wanna get in some more reading about it and watch a few videos first. I think your plants have a surprise growth spurt coming up yet. Don't sleep on those little ladies!

You can get a cheap set of ph and tds pens on Amazon for like $20 and they'll be a thousand times better than using strips or guessing.

Tucking is WAY less advanced technique than scrogging....just get a chopstick and gently push the bigger shade/fan leaves under the bud sites....:)

That's exactly what I did except I used my fingers. At first I didn't really understand it when I was just reading you guys talking about it. Once you get in there though it's pretty straight forward.

I was actually wrong about the bud sites too, I think my northern lights has about 5 of them. Which still seems extremely low compared to other peoples but whatever.

Alright, alright! Now that you make it sound that simple, my girl better get prepped for a good tucking! When should I start with it?

Watch, in the end, when you're getting baked off your ass, you're gonna be laughing at yourself for ever tripping about those little ladies. Late bloomers are always stunning in the end. ;-)

Don't need to start until it's in flower...:)

Best of both worlds is combining SCROG with tucking, once you get the net dialed in with the plants you start to notice a lot of the big fan leaves can be tucked right under the net and then the bud will start to go up and the only leaves that will be left will be sugar up high. I'm heavily medicated right now so I'm not sure if this explanation is even English, but you get the idea hopefully.
