The center plant, leggy, has half of the white worm things turned brown/red and the bottom fan leaves are looking bad. This sounds like what Muddy means when harvest time is near or do I have another problem? I have not given them any nutes since I burned the tall one last week, just watter. The plants are like 45 days out of the ground. The seed bank said about 5.5 to 6 weeks but I like Muddys' idea to wait and let the fan leaves start to die, I think I will like the smoke better.

thanks. I am going to harvest one plant tonight. It still needs some time but I want to learn the difference in taste, the other 4 I will let the leaves tell me like Muddy says.

View attachment 87892 I will test my box before I harvest the center plant to check air flow. I have enought 1.5in hose to use two if I need to. I don't want mold but I don't want to dry to quickly. I think I might get 15-20 grams of dry bud.

Bad news/good news. One hose in the bottom of the tent was a waste of time. Put the box on top of the tent and ran two 1.5in hoses into the tent and in front of the extraction fan. Both hoses were able to hold a paper towel in place, but only lightly. I think this will be enough to exchange the stale air with room air, but may not help temps. If I open the room to the rest of the basement I will risk the house ac sending the smell upstairs but I will get cooler/fresher air. The room has heated up to almost 80.

View attachment 88121View attachment 88120 The buds and the trim (left) went in the dry box. Air flow seems good, humidy (50-52%) seems steady but I can't get the temp below 80-81. Poor planning on my part but it appears I will be smoking my own soon.

I harvested the leggy plant today and looked at the root ball. I noticed that the fine, feeder?, roots were all within the top or bottom few inches with very little in between. I guess there was nothing to feed on.

The box seems to work, the humidity is between 52-54% but the temps stay at 80. I don't want any smell anywhere else in the house so I will get a bathroom exhaust fan and use the dryer vent and send the filtered room air outside. I was going to make a drying box from a kitchen cabinet and computer fans but ran out of time and money. The carbon filter and two hepa air filters due a good job but if I leave the laundryroom door open when the ac comes on a slight smell will appear in different places, like at the front door. I think when this filtered air gets outside the smell will be even less. I really don't want to risk letting everyone know what I am up to but I need better control of room and tent temps.

The box did the job, so far. The best buds from Leggy have been drying 5 days at about 50%h but 81 temp. The stem still folds but not break so wednesday I will start curing. My first guess at 15-20g was a pipe dream. Maybe 10g because the buds are light and airy not fat. The result of being stuborn and not following Muddys' advice carefully. I wanted "trash" to try ed rosenthals' trash to stash stuff. The plant was by no means a loss, I get high from the bud trim and small (immature) buds. I screwed up taste, potency and yield. Better than I expected for the first plant I ever grew. The other four plants are getting some nice fat buds and the lower fan leaves are just yellowing. I will post pics soon. I have only watered the plants since I burned Leggy, these plants never showed signs of being burnt but I guess I over did the feeding enought to see them through to harvest. I think I will try less instead of more this time.

Don't be too hard on yourself. It's a learning process that we've all gone through. Stick with it and your results will improve with each successive grow.
