New Grower First Grow - Mephisto Sour Crack

You can see how ph down when th ph of the medium is already very low, would be counterproductive.
Lesson learned, I won't be using the peat anymore. I'm hoping my second girl in the advanced mix has better luck since that had added Coco. Any tips on what to do for the final 2-3 weeks for this one? Should I flush or let her ride till next feeding? I appreciate all the really good, detailed info man.

I would try to do the flush as it states. Then flush again with straight tap water all the way through, then take a handful or two of lime, if you can get it,...mix that around in the peat on the top, and then do a feed at 1/4 strength and wait 24 hours and see how they look. If all looks good, wait until the peat is a little drier on top and feed them with 1/2 feed. See how they look after another 24 hours. If all looks good, give them a 3/4 feed. That will be enough to finish them off. Don't go any higher.

To be clear. Flush with tap water heavy, then,Add lime and feed, then follow schedule for two days and feed 3/4 to the finish. Probably can skip any flush at the end bro. Give them all they can get out of that peat until the end. You might let them ride a week or two extra to see if they will thicken up a bit. I bet they will if you can stay patient.

also for the girl in the coco mix, her ph'd feed if you give her some, should be around 5.8 going in. Don't worry about run off.

Medczech, thanks bro, I don't think you could lay it out any easier for me ha. Guess I'll ride it out as long as possible on what she's got. Good thing is my second girl is a sour crack too, so I immediately get to fix my mistakes I learned from on round two. Thanks again!

No problem at all bro! That's what this forum is for. We all have to start somewhere. I have been doing this for a long time, but only just started coming on here and have encountered lots of great people, just trying to become independent with their meds. It's a great, liberating thing man, and you are almost there!

Hang in there. I really think you will get something out of her if you do exactly what I said give or take the results as I said. If there are any issues. Take a picture quick, post it here. I will reply as soon as I see it. This is a community. We grow together, learn together, and hopefully, partake together heavily :smokeout::smokeout::smokeout::smokeout::smokeout::smokeout::smokeout::smokeout::smokeout::smokeout::smokeout::smokeout::smokeout::smokeout:

Another way to go on the second girl to make your life a lot easier is to make her a bottom feeder!! All you do is put her in a tray of water that will hold at least 1 liter of water. Feed her from the bottom by filling the the tray and no more top feeding. That takes the medium buffer and the peat ph problem more out of the equation from the water as it now will suck from the bottom. This is the same as the Autopots do that I a man running now. I also makes it so much more clear when to feed them. When the tray goes dry, fill it up, done!

Not saying you have to at all, but with the medium you have, you would avoid the bigger problems for sure.

On the tray...it needs to be at least two inches deep water so the medium in your pot is wet only on the bottom inch or so.

Med! So much info thanks brother. I've been really interested in a SIP kind of setup, is that what your referring to? If so, I have a perfect tray for it, do i start the plant in as a seedling or wait for it to get a little bigger?

Also, when I'm flushing and trying to correct my other girls ph, is it ok to continuously water if it's draining or do I still run the risk of overwatering?

Thanks again man

Firstly, yes, sip system is one name for it. You need to wait to start bottom feeding until the roots reach the bottom of the pot. It's best if there is a cloth(landscaping cloth works best) in the bottom of the pan to prevent all the roots from coming out into the tray from the bottom of your pot.

Second thing, run the water all the way through, just let it drain out and then don't let it sit in the run off. You will then have to let it sit a day or so, like I said, until the top of the medium is relatively dry. Then go to step two.
