Grow Mediums First Grow - Hydro/DWC Training SCROG w/ Bagseed Photos

That Organic Med Farmer from way up in the North country wouldn't have a clue how to handle a woman like that.

Favorite instrument to listen to bar none, and have utmost respect for them, as well as all of you that can play.
You have had some fine players come out of your state bro. I live in the land O grunge.

Wish we were neighbors, would love to come over chill and listen to you jam, must be LOUD for this old man though.

Hey, what brand of monitor is that behind Miss Ibanez? Or is it a TX custom job?

:peace:

"What can this strange device be?
When I touch it, it gives forth a sound
It's got wires that vibrate and give music
What can this thing be that I found?

See how it sings like a sad heart
And joyously screams out it's pain
Sounds that build high like a mountain
Or notes that fall gently like rain."

"If it's too loud, your too old!"

Thx Stick! I've been playing now, 36 years? And I still suck. My hyper-ness and lack of coordination there-in was always a major roadblock to being able to play well. So I do for myself and enjoy it. No bands for me...
The top ones are Pyle Pro 3 way. The bottoms are some modified Klipsch Betas I've had for about 20 years now.

That's what I thought, as I run Klipsh upper end reference audio speakers. Wouldn't own anything else. Well I would still like to have a pair of Martin Logan's flagship speakers. That won't happen unless I win the lottery though.

All that matters is that you enjoy playing. I tried to pick it up many times when I was younger. No musical ability what so ever, but life without music would have no meaning as far as I'm concerned.

Off of one of the best albums of all time in my book. Saw them several times in the 70's, I think. That decade is a blur at best.

Dang, wouldn't that be nice (Martin Logan)! Yeah, normally I wouldn't buy Pyle, but it was free. My job has a "point system" for being a good boy and doing my job that can be "spent" for goods. I had enough points for the monitors and the power amp. Hell, can't beat free and I needed the gear so here we go!

Re: Rush
MAN! Don't get me started there! i'm a Rush fiend all day! Trouble is the last concert I went to was Roll The Bones and right after that I got married. Hmmm, wonder what went wrong there?
I wonder... LOL!!

THE SEARCH FOR MIZ DUBYA
(We're going Bushy!)

Miz Dubya's looking good. Drinking nearly half a gallon a day. Added 5 ml micro and 10 ml bloom to the mix. Must have got a couple of duds cuz my new pH meters don't want to stay calibrated and on one the batteries were DOA. Chinese junk.

Love it when the whole house smells like skunk garlic and green onions!

Holy mackerel!
Just got caught up, my notification system doesn't (Semmelweis <-- this is my iPads auto check to my poor typing of the word seem! WTF Apple) to be notifying me of the properly important updates!
The grow is looking great! Glad you sussed that phosphorus issue and she's taken off for you now.
Nice axe too! Hobbies and passions, keep us poor, but at least enjoying it!!
Thanks for the compliment too! Appreciate brother.
Peace

WOW, frontwards and backwards! Can't believe how much Miz Dubya had grown since your last pics.
She is looking very healthy as well.
Are you going to top her at all?
You may want to think about getting rid of some of that bottom growth as well if you are still planning on scROGing her, or even if your not, as she grows it will be hard to get enough light to that bottom growth. All that energy will be put into her upper growth. Just a thought, but I am sure you are aware of all this already my brother.

Peace...

Step 1 Update

The light has arrived and is in great shape! No broken bulbs or bent up reflectors! One more package; the bucket, and we're on to step 2! The specialty PVC parts for the frame (3-way corners, slip-T's, etc.) are on order. Hopefully will be here soon.
UPDATE: Had to switch the whole thing from 2" to 1.5". I couldn't get the slip-Ts any bigger. A lot of this whole frame is going to be engineering overkill because like to try new ideas. More drawings to follow as I get them done, it's a work in progress, changing everyday. But as soon as the bucket hits the door, it'll be build-out time.

The SCROG frame will use "slip-t" fittings to allow the frame to slide up and down the vertical posts of the lighting frame with under-hooks to secure the net pot during raising. This will facilitate easier bucket change outs and allow inspection of the root ball without risking damage to the plant. A lot of this whole frame is going to be engineering overkill because like to try new ideas.

Here is where to get the specialized fittings cheap!

Thx DWCocha!
I'm on a well with highly calcified water. In the tub it literally looks like cave water with a nice light blue tint too it.

THE SEARCH FOR MIZ DUBYA
(We're going Bushy!)

Well! Finally! After an icy wind storm, we were without power since 8p Thursday night. The storm blew down 5 poles and took 24 hours near exactly to get it restored. Temps in the house got down to 45F, but unfortunately the wind was too high to light the fireplace (broken flue) and the chimney has a cinder block on it to keep the swallows out. I had 4 or 5 come in the house once when I heard a racket in the fireplace and opened the doors to see what it was. Too bad I got ceiling fans! :twist:

Anyway...
Took out another set of fan leaves to allow better light penetration to the side stems. The way this one is going, I don't want to "lollipop" (yet) or top her. Topping no, lollipopping later. She seems to be bushing up real good on her own, so we'll see how it goes. She has yet to show any sort of pre-flower. Hell, she's still doing opposite phylotaxy and probably won't show anything until the flip. And so, this is prompting my next thoughts.

Honestly, I'm getting to the point that I would like to get on with the quality grow and get off the bag seed. Miz Dubya is a photo and she's going to be veeeerrrry long-winded and I really don't want to spend another 3-4 months on this grow. This was a training grow anyhow, to familiarize myself with DWC and I need the closet in production (perpetual). So, I'm going to order the Dragons now and get them going. One problem is that I don't want to start the SD's in an HPS 12/12 environment. I have another HID fixture, but not another ballast. I might just have to get another.

Miz Dubya's going to need at least a couple weeks or more of veg before I flip it (IF I cut her short) and then God only knows how long in flowering.

What to do...what to do... :dunno:

Stick
Yeah, I'm just letting her grow out the side stems to give me more bud sites. I'll defoliate as we go along to thin out the non-essential leaves and under-performing side growth.

Thank you! And your absolutely welcome , Bro!!

Anytime, Bro! I love to research or "source" material.

Also, thinking on setting up the tent for finishing Miz Dubya and do the SD in the main closet.
