New Grower First grow ever

Well, I have a fungus gnats problem in my tent methink...
Until today, I used to catch one or two, no big deal I thought, but a few moment ago I killed 6 of them, so I need to treat.

I've read about nematode worms, did you used them and did it work well ?
They say that you water the plants with the mix, but can I add my nute in the mix too ?

What I did was to not water so frequently and let the soil dry, they disappeared. Also,I used some potash soap, the One you can buy in flower and plant market and Is BIO.Do a mix of water and soap, spray It on the soil a bit,and in the leaves as when It dries It becomes K,potassium for your plants. Also, not spray too much in the soil or It Will alter the ph,soap is not acid,It 's basic pH

I usually wait until the top of soil is dry before watering, but I will wait a little more to really dry the substrat.
Will check about potash soap.
Thanks

Neem oil is great for getting rid of insects. Check this https://www.royalqueenseeds.fr/blog...cide-organique-de-choix-pour-le-cannabis-n657

Never bad to spray some for prevention.

Here's what they say :
"Avoid using neem three weeks before harvest. The lingering oil can affect final flavours. Although, it would be very bad luck to have something go wrong in the last three weeks."

Well I'm right here in the timeline, wouldn't have my herb taste like, well, not herb lol
I can try to spray some on the top soil though.
Thanks for the tip.

So you never used nematode worms ?
They say it's pretty good to fight the gnats's larvae.

Oh I have a question regarding my next grow : in your opinion what strains are staying small enough to fit my 80x80x180 tent, apart from the dwarf one ?
My criteria are high level of THC, fruity and citrus flavor, fast grow ^^

Thanks

I hear about terpenes all the time and didn't really get it until I grew 50 Shades of Grape by Mephisto. That plant is so intensely sweet and fruity, it made me crave bubble gum and I couldn't stop smelling it. Another one that's probably really good is Double Grape (same breeder). I just started that grow so don't guarantee anything. But check out what's possible - one grower reported over 35%THC! https://www.autoflower.org/threads/31-thc-double-grape-test-result-picture.82567/

As far as keeping plants within your grow space, you just have to plan. I'm too eager to train so I never seem to have issues with height but my yield suffers because my plants don't use enough of the vertical space. Long buds need long branches too, is what I'm learning.

If you keep like with like (stick to indica or sativa dominant for a grow) that will be easier. Allocate extra lateral space for sativa-dominant plants so that you'll have room to pull tops down and out to keep them level and low.

If you wait too long to bend branches over and are worried about breakage, you can wrap them well with athletic tape in preparation, bend them carefully and tie them into place. I do that all the time without problems.

I've only been growing for almost a year, so I'm still learning. But there's a lot of good information on this site.

Nice, I’m dropping a Double Grape bean soon. I didn’t realize it had tested so potent. How is yours progressing?

@Rasterman Thank you for the input !
I feel you when you say you couldn't stop smelling it lol ! I felt the same with a blueberry stash, incredible trippy smell

35% THC... well I'd better extract this one instead of vape it lol
Should do a great oil.

Yep this one I learn it the hard way !
Look at my garden, the amnesia haze girl compared to the (previously stunted) royal dwarf... lol !
I'll grow like plants next time for sure ^^

Yeah I was stating the obvious, sorry. Kudos though - I can imagine that one snaking around all over the tent. Your girls all look very happy and healthy.

I planted an amnesia Haze awhile back and it didn't pop. I'm glad I saw your post so I'll know what to expect the next time.
