I have only had them once, theu are easy to spot as the prefer to walk than fly!
Just crawling around being dicks!
Becareful when reading about getting rid of pests, especially in forums, there is a fair bit of advice out there, which is purely anecdotal and often told that "a friend said"!
We need proof, science and results or no dice.

Here is what I compiled today, it is a very very long post but I have been through ,ost preventions and cures but there are a couple of plant basesd preventatives I still need to verify.
I have added some fors and againsts in some of the sections to give a more complete over view.

@arty zan I'm trying to locate the Monterrey spinosad spray, but it seems that I can't order it from France "sigh"
Anyway I will stick (pun intended) to the yellow sticky tabs, neem spraying and nematodes.
Wish me luck !

All was so flawless up to now...

Overall, am I condemned to deal with gnats every time I'll grow in soil ?
If that's so, I'll happily switch to something else !

That's unfortunate. I tried Amamzon.fr as well and all I got were NEEM and d-limonine products. Spinosad must not be EU registered.

As @arty zan says, maybe the trade mark is different for France, as it is different for Australia...

Spinosyn is the actual active ingredient(s) (secreted by Saccharopolyspora spinosa) - Spinosad is a mixture of chemical compounds in the spinosyn family derived from the bacterium. My point is that I think Spinosad is the actual name - not a trade name. Make sense?

Never heard about hydrogen peroxyde bud washing... so much to learn lol
