- If I chop a bud, the ones below will still continue to grow, right ? Is there any rule of thumb in this staggered harvest process ?
- How do you fast dry just one bud ?

it'z all about the trichz! and well..........that pretty much sez it all :smoking: whichever budz are lookin like u want em to, trich-wize, then by all meanz, chop em, and let the rest finish in their own time...a staggered harvest pozez no detriment to the plant & i do it often enuff meself as to "quick" drying a tester bud, don't microwave it all i do is set a bud or two on top of a modem or me stereo & it'z uzually dry enuff to toke in a day'z time ppp

Well I don't own a microwave, never like this concept. Plus as you say the waves destroy and/or modify molecules, really not a fan of this.
I think I can try to let the bud in a net just above the led light : the space in the tent is well ventilated, RH is low at 44%, temp is 19°C.

I've dried buds by laying them on top of the led light power supply too.

Yeah I wouldn't personally, I just know some people do. If I were in that much of a rush I'd probably pop it in the airfrier on dehydrate lol but I don't mind waiting a few days.

What I actually did is yesterday I remove the larger leaves on the buds on the dwarf girl.
Then I had the leaves dry, then decarboxylate them and made a nice little ghee infusion, which I used today to cook my lunch (still a bit high ^^) lol !
But as an artist in my soul here is the little staging I did for my first fast dry ever

Oh, if you're looking for super quick you can pop it in the microwave for short bursts at 25% power. It'll kill any taste but you should be able to get an idea of the high. @Bruce Campbell was just asking about this so he may be able to clue you in on how he went about it. For me, leaving it on a screen for a couple days worked just fine, as its not gonna change a ton in 2 or 3 days unless its already super ripe.

I decided to just put my sample bud in the fridge and haven't actually tried it yet.

Theoretically, microwaving should work. They work by heating polar molecules like water. They shouldn't interact with or heat nonpolar molecules like cannabinoids. I'd imagine the heat may have some impact on terpenes, though. And, in general, with any quick drying method, chlorophyll and the like has less time to decompose.

I've tried it on leaves, but not buds. If it does affect cannabinoids, it doesn't completely eliminate them...
