Hi Everyone,

This will be my first grow ever so any help is greatly appreciated
.
I am in a 3x3 using 1 5gal with FFOF mixed with Coco Coir

Strain is Bubba Trouble

My current light is a 1200w (235w) I am sending it back and have got the HLG QB V2 3000k on the way and will use this the whole cycle

I have Roots Organics ( Surge & Buddha grow only ) I'm trying to educate myself more before buying anything else.

The pic is from today 7/11 and is 9 days from just barely poking out of the ground (sorry for the light)

Click full image before posting so we can see without tapping individual pics but sounds like you have the base of it... keep her lit! Imma sub up and if you have any questions feel free to ask! But I have to ask why mix your mediums like that? Coco coir is a hydro medium you never wanna run straight water through it because it’s already ph balanced and won’t retain nutrients as well as a soil such as ffof which is loaded with nutes so I’m curious as to why you chose that blend... no judgement just curious.

Welcome to AFN:pass:

I always suggest run the simplest grow your first two runs. Get the basics down then add and remove things one at a time.Focus on environment light, temp, humidity. You master those it is honestly most of the battle.

@Kneehigh85 I have done this before with my own organic soil mic a few times I do half peat (better Cation exchange) half coco (way better water retention). The half and half is a third of my mix. If that makes sense.

I went to the Hydro store and told them i was using the FFOF they said i should mix in some coco for aeration, I thought i could trust him working at a hydro store and me knowing nothing, i thought i should listen to him, but now you have me worried.

Thanks for the welcome, I will definitely try to keep it simple i figure my first few grows will be just learning and if i make it to harvest i will be happy lol

You should be fine with that mix, plenty of growers use soil/coco. I've seen breeders that suggest adding coco to soil. If you want to change, buy some perlite and mix that with the soil. When I was in soil a few years ago, I used 50/50 Ocean Forest/perlite with good results.

lol that was actually the reason i was in the store,I was at the counter with a giant bag of perlite ready to check out, he asked me what i was going to use it for/with, i told him and he said i should go with coco instead will help with aeration and will have some water retention, he didn't have any but said i could easily get it online, since he was actually loosing a sell i figured go with what he says lol.

They also give out 1 free gallon of compost tea (Stump Tea) every Tuesday so thats pretty nice

I still use aeration in my coco soil mix. Not a ton but some.
