New Grower First grow ever. Will keep updated regularly. Feel free to tag along

Daily update

Day 10 for the widows
Day 5 for the zkittlez

So I figured out what is causing the leaf curling and it's definitely heat stress. The tent is in my garage and it's not insulated well like the rest of the house is so it gets a little roasty toasty in the afternoon when the sun hits that side of the house. Temps spiked again up to 85 so I am going to run a 19-5 light cycle where dark cycle is when the garage gets hot. This should help with the heat because it's ok in there with the lights off even during the hot time. With the lights on it's just too much for the plants and they are starting to curl even more. I will update tomorrow to see if this works. Regardless I have a fan blowing in there on low over the babes to keep the leaves cool and to strengthen the stems and new growth. They are blowing up and I'm starting to get giddy like a little kid hahaha. I'll update if there is anything that changes before tomorrow. Later y'all!

I never thought I would see another Illini fan on here! I’m subbed in!

INI!

LOL I go to school here so I madly rep the illini so I'm glad to have a fellow fan along for the ride :pass:
Are you a sports fan also? I’m die hard basketball and football. Good luck with it!

Yes I am haha. I am hoping that this year we can pull some stuff together because our football was absolutely trash. Basketball kind of picked up but it's been a little bit since we have put up some serious competition.

You know it's bad when I get into football games for $5 and still didn't want to go by the end of the season

Get an infrared thermometer and check your leaf surfaces. I run my ambient temperature up to 86f but with air circulation my leaves only reach 82-83f but hovers around 80f down to 70f with the lights off. Keep in mind that higher heat leads to more water uptake and too much heat in the root zone can bother them

I thought about it from watching your thread but they are already showing signs of heat stress so for now I'm going to try and just keep them cooler with the fan blowing slightly on them instead of right over the top. If I can't get this under control I will take that suggestion because it seems to pay dividends to you my man!

Also doing some research I guess autos are not as good at taking heat stress as normal photos. I can't personally attest to this but I have seen it quoted on a few articles and grow journals

Well the other thing is I'm growing equatorial pure landrace sativas which thrive in my environment. I ran my indica hybrids closer to 77f which yours might prefer over higher heat especially since they are younger and not holding as much water
