New Grower First grow ever. Will keep updated regularly. Feel free to tag along

I thought about keeping it 24 hours. They have been blowing up honestly....
I have not seen a difference between 18/6 or 24/0 and I've been vegging my sativas at 14/10. Your plants are looking good though, you're going to be elated when you see them taking off after their roots develop and you start seeing new nodes almost every day

Funny story... I had set my timer to a 21/3 light schedule but for whatever reason the other day I remember flipping the switch to have the timer not function, aka just run straight through without the timer....they have been getting 24 hours light for at least the past 3 or 4 days. I corrected that but they really didn't seem to mind at all. Just thought I had to share my rookie mistake with y'all! It doesn't matter too much with these autos but I'm going to run a photo grow next. Going to have to be on top of my game with that one! Can't have a mess up in flower like that
Hey Buddy, for autos 24/0 is ok, personally that’s what I run. But a lot of peeps run different times, 18/6 (popular) and 20/4 (is common). Some to save on electricity, some think it’s better for your plants to give rest. That’s one of those things that is a personal preference and whatever your comfortable with.

Plants are looking good though GrowBro:pass:

I'll give the daily update later but I'm happy because the true 3 fingers are finally here! They are alive! Lol here is a pic of the biggest widow. It's crazy it seems like every single day the new leaves double in size. Waiting for next bunch to pop and things to get moving!

Daily update

Girls are loving life right now. The widows are about to start their next set of leaves, and their three fingers are really coming in now. The zkittlez is starting it's second set of leaves but seems to be trucking along well. Probably water later tonight but they are ok for now.

~80°f
~50%RH
-No water yet, probably around 500 ml RO per widow and 250 ml RO for the zkittlez later
-no food today, calmag every other water for now at low dose
-Light distance 24in, down two from before. Girls seem to be ok with it. I'll watch though

Alright so I'm seeing my first signs of something looking a little weird on the first true leaves on one of my widows. You can see at the base where they grow out of the stem, the leaves seem a little brittle and are curling up a bit close to the stem. I turned the lights off to look at them with natural light and they look like a really good green, not burned like from nutes or lights, but I also have no idea what's going on, or if I'm just over reacting? When I installed the oscillating fan it was kind of blowing directly at that plant until I though maybe put it above to get some passive air instead of direct air but this has progressed after I moved the fan to indirectly blow on this babe. The other widow at same growth does not have this issue at all right now.

Edit also haven't watered in over 48 hours but soil is still damp like 1in deep so I have been resisting the urge to water bad because they are still wet

I also cross posted in the infirmary because a dad has to take care of his children :crying:

Daily update

Day 9 for widows
Day 4 for zkittlez

The girls seem to be doing well and are really starting to blow up quicker and quicker. The two widows are starting their third set for real today and the 3 fingers are starting to get quite pronounced. The zkittlez popped really fast but that second set of leaves is sure taking it's time popping up!

~81°f
~50%RH
-500 ml RO water per widow, 250 ml RO water for zkittlez
-Botanicare Cal-mag plus 2ml/gal
-Light distance 24 in

So the widows are looking good! I think they may have gotten a little heat stress. The leaves are kind of turning up from the sides. Hopefully you can see from the pics. I am going to watch the temps in there and adjust if needed. I can only think that it was the increased heat, it spiked yesterday at 85°F for a little while before I upped the exhaust.

I'll post the full update later :smoking:

Daily update

Day 10 for the widows
Day 5 for the zkittlez

~79-85°F
~65%RH
-No water today. Dry on surface but still quite damp right beneath. Will probably water and feed Cal-mag tomorrow
-No nutes
-Light distance 24in

So I figured out what is causing the leaf curling and it's definitely heat stress. The tent is in my garage and it's not insulated well like the rest of the house is so it gets a little roasty toasty in the afternoon when the sun hits that side of the house. Temps spiked again up to 85 so I am going to run a 19-5 light cycle where dark cycle is when the garage gets hot. This should help with the heat because it's ok in there with the lights off even during the hot time. With the lights on it's just too much for the plants and they are starting to curl even more. I will update tomorrow to see if this works. Regardless I have a fan blowing in there on low over the babes to keep the leaves cool and to strengthen the stems and new growth. They are blowing up and I'm starting to get giddy like a little kid hahaha. I'll update if there is anything that changes before tomorrow. Later y'all!
