New Grower First Grow Ever I'm Terrified

Hi Frost Don, welcome to AFN. Your soil sounds like it may be ok in the long run but I am afraid it may be too hot to start out.
5 gal buckets are probably a bit of over-kill as well, 3 gal are more typical.

If you have not already planted the seeds I would put some starter soil that does not contain any nutes (including organic) in the middle of your buckets and plant the seed in that; that way the plant can slowly grow into the richer soil.

Lighting sounds fine for now, you will want to have more red bulbs once your plants are in full bloom.

If you don't already have something to check pH you will want to add that, both a soil probe type like the Accurate 8 and a pH pen to check your water pH. The moisture meter built into the Accurate 8 will help avoid over watering those big pots until the plants are really well established.

Terrified of what? Armageddon? What's the worst that can happen? If your terrified about the growing part and not a legal aspect, chill the hell out. and a *LOL*. The worst thing is that your grow fails. AND in that failure is a win because you will have learned what not to do. And in reality, that is all we are doing - is learning what NOT to do! We all want to do more than we should with with tinkering about nutes, lights, heat, water, on and on and on. When the most important thing to learn is patience and having a learning mind.

I get frustrated myself growing but only because I want to grow better than I do. But you know what? When I get there I will get bored, so I hope I never quit learning to grow better or more efficiently.
