New Grower First grow DP StarRyder

you have any led bulbs or cfl's you can use for side lighting a couple 6500k and 2700k work for that and them may help ya during the stretch if ya keep them 6-8" inches away instead of closer hopefully will force plant to stretch towards the light, if ya do notice they are growing towards it like ya want try give enough distance without getting carried away... and just pay attention to when stretch is slowing down, even once stretch totally over during the next 30-45 days your buds should grow 3,4,5+ inches while they filling in, but at much much slower rate...

Growing in my homemade MDF box.

Dimensions are 100x50x120 cm. (LxWxH). Small but thats all the space I have. I use two 300’s, one fan, a small air intake hole and a filter powered by a cheap ventilation unit. Very cheap setup.

Unfortunately it is getting very hot in there. Maybe by replacing the ventilation unit I can manage that more hot air is going out or place some sort of air intake fan so more cold air is going in. The spread of 2 mars hydros do fit that space well. Adding extra lights now would lead to higher temps in the little box.

If I can not solve the heat issue before next grow than I will experiment with one 300 with two smaller pots and see what that will bring. I will paint the box. Looking for that perfect balance. Hope to achieve 0,5g/w but harvesting 300 grams will be impossible this grow. If the true power of a MarsHydro is around 140w it would be possible. [emoji13]

yes, your right you certainly don't need add any extra light, I didnt notice ya had two led's one for each will certainly work better then 1 led per 2 plants.. If ya can increase your inlet and make an outlet at top to get rid of some of heat that would help so much. you can rig a 4" on there or use pc fan's or just like 6" clip fan blowing the air out the top cut out. theres a 2nd option also if heat always will be an issue maybe to use co2 bag or something to add extra co2 will allow higher room temps in fact using co2 you need higher then usual temps for it to work correctly.so for you that may be the solution ;)

I hope you do not intend to pull .5g per watt with your very first grow, I wouldn't set your goal that high. really if ya hit .25g per watt on first grow your doing okay.. It's gonna take a few grows before ya hitting .5g per watt consistently and more grows to do even better.. Just don't set your standards too high, it's your first grow your bound to make mistakes...also when figuring out gm per watt its your total true watts X dry weight... to give ya an idea how much that can fluctuate my last grow i got 1.56gm per watt, grow before that was single plant and only got .56gm per watt...but I had whole different setup then also..

remember in soil, when your seeing an issue with your plants that issues is many days old already...and same goes with correcting issues with soil grow, it's not as fast as hydro or coco and takes many days to see if it's helping, not immediate results like hydro & coco... keep that in mind always..

yeah now I seen that box better, you really need a top outlet to get rid of heat, since heat rises and will fill that box in no time if your not helping get rid of it..

Haha, that I wish. Goal is around 70 grams per plant so 140 in total which comes down to 0,25g/w.

Going to buy a computer fan and ac adapter tommorow so more fresh air is going in. Just found a cheap one on the internet. There is a outtake fan installed allready. Its above the lights but not in the picture. With a stronger fan I would also be able to get more air out so will look for that to. Currently I am using this fan which isnt the best obviously.

Are CO2 bags save to use or do you also have to install a CO2 detector with them?

Looked at your critical 2.0 report. Holy sh#t, what a monster. Well done mate!

yes, they are safe or I wouldn't recommend to you. they low level co2 wouldn't produce amounts that you would ever need worry about, plus you just get a small one sized for your grow space ... yeah thanks mate, that critical was huge... my trainwrecks both set weight records by double+ without co2 ;) and 1 of them come in first place too!

i'm maintaining 1400's ppm co2 with an XL co2 bag, but not much green yet in there as the green fills up tent the co2 levels will go down a bit.. co2 always an advantage when your having problems with heat, your plants may want extra feed/water so watch what they telling you...

and with co2 they may look like a race car on nitrious, incredible growth speed ;)
