My plants are in flower and are 41 days old (around 12 days in flower now) and over the last 4-5 days I've noticed that around 6-8 hours before lights are scheduled to go off 3 out of my 8 plants start to droop - they only droop around the bud sites and they have the overwatered look - all leaves below the canopy do not droops. They are currently under a 20/4 light schedule

I thought it may be a over watering issue but they are in 25litre pots and over 4ft in height now so I think that they are consuming a fair bit of water now - usually water every 5-8 days depending on how heavy the pots are.. The soil never feels water logged or too wet. (using canna professional).

I realised it can't be a over water issue as in the morning the plants look really perky and healthy the diminish around after 12-13 hour mark. Does anyone know what this is? I read that sometimes the plants know when its light out but 6-8 hours seems a bit early for getting ready for lights out. Can anyone advise

Hey Rolo. Although I only have one grow under my belt, I would think that 41 day old girls should be drinking more. Mine went about 2-3 days between feeding/watering's in soil. Especially if their 4' tall. If you can post pics, it may help as I am sure someone more knowledgeable will be along shortly to truly help you out.

I will try to get photos up tomorrow. In regards to watering every 3 days the soil seems too damp to be watering so soon within that time. Last time I watered within 3 days, 2 plants within an hour drooped and was overwatered (They recovered within 24 hours). Plus I watered & fed them today and the exact 3 plants at around 5/6 hours before lights off started to droop so I really don't think under/over watering is the problem here. The rest all look fine

Its only the bud leaves that droop, the rest of the plant does not. Come morning time they will be perky again. Maybe I'm looking into it too much as they look healthy but it just seems strange they started doing this in the last 4-5 days

Simply answer.....the plants are tired and are ready to go to sleep. Some plants do it more than others. A couple of plants in my last grow would do it 3 hours before lights out. You could almost set your watch to it. In the morning they would be all perky....just like the little sexy bitches they were!

typically speaking 8 hours or so is sometimes a lil early for them to show dropping although far from uncommon.especially if theyre being pusjed hard or freshly watered n so on.so he prolly right theyre mostly tired.theyre working hard.should ease up a little in flower but will still happen.in my garden ill usually see dropping more often about 4 or even 5 hours out,but thats where the water and soil and roots come into play.so i wouldnt worry about it at this point unless its bad or they discolor in some way.

Plants go into cycles and indoor plants are no different. I had plants do the same and HotBunz chimed in with the correct answer. When the Sun goes down in nature. All living things know it and respond. We as humans live in an artificial world of perpetual "Day Light". When the lights go down we yawn too.

Sleep is a good thing. Cell structure needs to be rested in order to have a healthy life. Could never understand why some growers' keep a 24 hour lights on.

Try to mimic mother nature in the indoor grow. Bright days, cool nights, plenty of fresh air, moderate rain fall and comfortable humidity. That's what your girls want. It's really that easy...:pighug:

Heres some pictures so far. I am 42 days in now and its my first grow. As you can see I have given some examples of the droop I'm experiencing with them. Cant believe how tall they have got considering they auto flowers they are around 4 - 4 1/2 ft tall. I have switched to flowering nutes now and a couple still seem to be going higher - 1 of them if it was directly under the light would be an inch away, it seems that autoflowers like to do their own thing lol. The light has always been around 2-3ft above the canopy

There is literally 100's of bud sites. I lost count on one plant when I got to 40 and couldn't tell if I had already counted them lol.. I am hoping that I will get a good yield from this.

My setup:

8 Plants - 5 x dinafem Widow & 3 x dinafem Amnesia
5ftx5ft tent
600w Gavita hps
carbon extraction and air intake
co2 bucket
5 gallon pots
ecotechnics temp/humidity controller

Temps stay at a steady 26-28c and humidity varies - I try keep it between 40-50 however sometimes it can drop to 30-40

All in all they look good. There is some droop on picture #2 , but the next pic the fan leaves are nice and alert. All the other pics they look normal to me. There is no nutrient def that I can see. Could be a bit too warm for some of them. Could be a bit Lumen Loopy?

You got a good grow going. Do you do a Wet/Dry cycle? All things are within range. Got me. They look normal.

Maybe another eye on them may see something that I don't.

In FLOWER they will drink more and then slow down as they ripen.

I don't let them dry out too much - usually I wait until the soil is dry 2-4 inches down. As well I use a digital ph/water meter to gauge when they need to be watered - usually its easier just lifting the pots. I usually water every 5-8 days and light feed every other water. I use the full canna nute range and follow their light feed schedule (Feed a bit less than the light feed recommendation - didn't want to over do it on my first one).

Buds seem to be fattening up nicely and crystals starting to frost the leaves - only thing there isn't much smell yet coming off them but I guess the carbon filter is doing its job well.

Maybe the droop is they are just tired because as above they all perk right up in the morning then around 6 hours before lights off they start drooping (only 3 plants do it).

I have to be honest. I don't see anything that is harmful to these girls. I micro grow and two plants are my limit. Doing eight plants is a task in it's self. They are reacting to something, but no need to worry.

Again there are growers out there that do larger grows that may be some help if you are really concerned.

You still get 25 Rep points.
