New Grower First grow @Critical Purple Auto @600w Led grow @Need advice and help

If you have a hydro shop anywhere nearby I ditch those cubes and go for some rapid rooters or some Coco plugs. The Coco plugs that have a little bit of nutrients in them and work so much better than those grodan or those rockwool.

If you go straight into Fox Farm soil that's bit too hot you could mix your soil and layer it with something like Happy Frog if you have that in your area.

Is that really necessary to layer the soil , I was hoping to not buy any soil till second grow or even 3rd. Happy frog by fox farm ? Will the "hot" soil kill the plant or just won't grow as fast ?

I don't bother with the paper towel I go 24 to 36 hours soaking in a cup until I get a nice white crack in the seed and then I shove it down into my medium sideways. Technically if you can find a point those should face up or that I never do it that way.

Thank you for the advice , I was looking around and saw a recommendation to put the floating seed in a piece of paper towel so it will be constantly submerged in the water . So I did that this morning .

It's mostly hard on the young seedling starting out and yeah it does kind of stunt some strains. If you're able to get a Coco plug to start your seedling in that will help a bit. The problem with those grodan or rockwool plugs as you have to PH down and then they don't have any nutrients and have to be feeding a little bit and just kind of a pain when you're just starting out.

Which happy frog do I need to get ? I see there are a whole bunch of different ones ...

Kitty, you are going to have a major height problem.
If your pots are 1 foot tall, and your lights require that the plants be 2 feet away from the ceiling, to keep from burning (and including distance between light and tent roof), then all that adds up to 3 feet, leaving zero feet for your plant height.
I speak from experience, because my last auto grow, the smallest plant was about 3 feet tall, and the tallest almost 6 feet.
Some of the plants grew above the lights in a nearly 7 foot tall tent.
Even if this calculation is off by one whole foot, that still leaves room for only 1 foot tall plants.
You still might be able to get this to work with severe scrogging, but probably only for the very shortest of autos.

Ouch, too many varieties since the last time I had a look at Fox Farm stuff. Gosh I don't know, maybe if you go to your local hydro store you can ask for their best seed starting mix. I see Fox Farm has her own seed starting mix now.

The other thing is you can just stop into live Stoners gossip For an hour or two and you'll get all kinds of opinions. You can even stick a link to your diary and get more people in here looking at things.

Correct me if I'm wrong I've seen journals where people
Grow in pc cases and they let the buds touch the lights or just under using cfl or led ... and had pretty good results in less then total 2feet height space

CFLs can touch plants, but any powerful LED will produce light burn if it gets too close.
I have a 600 watt platinum brand LED, and the closest recommended distance for it is 18 inches.
There is also about a 3-6 inch wasted space between light surface and tent roof.
Lower power LEDs might be able to get a little closer.

Hmm well I guess I have to keep it as low as I can :/

Certainly, in the micro section. I would never suggest allowing any part of a plant to rest on a heat source. CFL manufacturing changed, the new bulbs are more compact and create excessive heat. The older ones were cooler and could be used in close quarters. It seems to depend on the company producing the light.
People still manage to work magic though, and that is who I am tailoring my auto for. Patients with tight, confined, micro spaces.
