Majority of people have had to throw her under 12/12 to flower, I don't want to waste the time/space but maybe she will auto. Saw 1 video on youtube of the Afgan and it was actually autoflowering (I believe & hope).

Hey StealthGrown I am also growing the Afghan Kush Ryder at the moment. When you say the majority of people had to throw this under 12/12, I have to respectfuly disagree.

I have never grown this before, so I don't have first hand experience yet. But the information I found suggests this strain has been somewhat stabalized (is seemingly more stable than it was in '09 anyway, saying its stable is probably a stretch) By searching in forums I was able to come across several positive and negative experiences. The overwhelming majority of negative experiences with the plant not autoflowering occered in '09 or very early in 2010. I was actually unable to find anyone who expirenced an issue over the last 6 months or so. (3 out of 3 positive reviews on this forums strain review thread, all in 2011) While the positive feedback on this strain is mostly recent. :toke:

What was your experience when you were searching for information? How is the girl looking these days?

I would leave them under the CFL bulbs until they start to flower before switching light spectrums myself. Here is a pic today at day 27 where I measured it so you know how much space you will have.. Its just under 12 inches right now. I thought it would be a little taller myself but its good to get a measurement at least going forward.

There is a post in the infimirary section where someone is having this issue currently is the only recent record I have seen of that issue.

Hey dude, found this on the Afgan Kush Ryder/ Pakistan Ryder on Grasscity. Some guy contacted World of Seeds and let them know their autos weren't autoflowering and they responded saying:

First of all Thanks for your complaint.

we are terribly sorry for the situation.

Exactly, the seeds are not feminised neither autoflo. The mistake was
produced in the packing department. Somebody did confuse two codebars
referent to other strains stored at the research fridge, in wich we have
all the seeds we test in order to do new crosses along the time.

we have replaced the products to everyboy we have could, but in england
our wholesaler Busil Bush has said that cannot replace the product to
their clients because it is supossed the seeds are not for geminatiyng
only for collection, so Busil gives to us all responsability.

I dont remember exactly when that was, but I think he said he got the beans during an April or maybe it was June promo from Attitude in 2009 or 2010. I got my beans during the June promo of 2010. On the Grasscity site, quite a few people were complaining about them, around the time of the promo I think. But I'm sure they've got the autos under control now.

Shes lovely Scott, looks awesome. I'm diggin the height, it would be cool to not have to LST either of my autos.

I set the first picture as my wallpaper on the computer, love it. Cool structure and budding already.

Sweet :) So how are the babies today?

They're good besides some little white spots from misting with hard tap water, that sat for almost 2 weeks, and thats been pHed down to 6.6. I guess the spots come from hard minerals/metals in tap water and also can be from pH down. Correct? Will post some pictures tomorrow or the next day. Still haven't given them nutes, 127 watts of CFLs on 18/6 since July 4th.

Should I be misting them with normal tap water thats sat out for a while? or the tap water pHed to 6.6 that I use for waterings? Soon I am going to only mist with bottled water, but I dont have any at the moment. Want to look into the water gallon refillable jugs of RO-ed water, but I dont know what stores do that.

StealthGrown, dont let them be afraid of the 250 bro. I start mine under the 250 and run 18/6 from start to finish.
as long as you have the distance between the plant tops and the light set where they will not burn
you should be fine. I keep mine 15-18 in above the tops of them.

You should not need to mist them at all, i keep a cup of clean water in the room and the humidity stays where it needs to be
this with the moist soil should land you around 45-65% RH depending where you are.

Note on the water, you can use tap water BUT you must set it for 48 hrs before you use it.
the chlorine will evaporate at this point and you can use it. You may need to balance the pH
cause it should float back to 7 or so. If you can get the RO or rain water this would be the best bet.

Hey Duplex! Thanks for stoppin by. I only have about 15 inches of height TOTAL, lol. Depending of pot size and how close I can get them from the 250 watter, I have about 14-18 inches of plant growth total. So Im worried about putting them under the 250 watter early. I have about 4 cups/bowls of water in the dresser but the humiditys still under 30% sometimes even 20%. Even though the rooms usually 45-60% humidity, dont know why its so low in there so misting helps with that. They seem to appreciate it.

Anyone think organic veg nutes are necessary yet?

When do you guys suggest me transplanting my girls in the tupperware containers to the final 1.75 - 2.25 gallon grow bags? They are going to be 2 weeks from breaking soil tomorrow.

And when do you guys think I should start LST-ing them? The Himalaya Blue Diesel should be fine without training (I think), but the Afgan Kush Ryder is probably going to get pretty damn tall. And I'm still worried she may not auto. But I hope all goes well.

Thanks fellow AFN growers! :peace:
