New Grower First grow and new to the network...

Well that didn’t go as planned. Tested my tap water for the first time. 7.4 ph with 327 ppm. Forget the campden pills I can’t do it. Ran out and got 10 gallons of RO water.

Put the babies in the buckets. Fretted about where I should let the water level sit. Set it too high (probably) and worried about it some more. Went back and took the water level down. I’ll probably have to water when she gets dry until they peek out from the net pot.

Set up the pump, tubing, check valves. Moved the electrical cords. Wiped the tent down. Set up the humidifier.

I didn’t have enough RO water to change GGs reservoir. I’ll have to get more tomorrow. But I topped off her tank and added a bit of nutes. I like the RO water. I didn’t have to mess with the pH at all.

Got to thinking about doing some LST on GG and noticed two things. First, the stem doesn’t move. So I left it alone, maybe I’ll go for a star shape tomorrow when I check the tent. But I did seem to notice droopy looking leaves. She is definitely not praying to the lights.

I’ll see how she is tomorrow after I change the reservoir. If she’s still droopy, I’ll take a pic in natural light and maybe upload it.

Tent update:

Things look good in the tent. I am especially happy with my northern lights babies. It’s been 6 days since they first poked their heads out and they look really good. Both have sent roots down into the reservoir already.

I’m happy with how GG looks. After being stunted badly for her first three weeks, she’s trying to catch up and loving life. I experimented with some LST on her and she responded well to that. I plan to adjust the tie downs tomorrow ... she’s talking to me, telling me what to do next. At 36 days, still not the slightest hint of a bud.

I’ve been keeping the pH around 5.8. GG gets micro grow and bloom to a tds of 800ish. It doesn’t burn her but she doesn’t seem to be using much. The babies get the same to a tds of 200. And they all get hydroguard.

Not much left to tell. Everything is pretty much in a holding pattern, waiting for something to happen. It smells nice in the tent.

Keep listening to those plants, DG! You are doing great! Just watch the nutes on the GG, to be sure you aren't going up too fast.

I’m taking you up on your advice on the nutes. I’ll take a gallon out and a fresh gallon of RO in. PH and see what she thinks for a few days. As always, thank you.

Okay, good. My two plants were so different, the GG loved light, couldn't get enough, while it didn't like too much nutes, the CP loved nutes, couldn't get enough, but didn't like too much lights. It was a balancing act, which is why I am going with the same strain in the single reservoir from now on. With single buckets you don't have that problem! Just give each one what they need.

That sure was a complication on your first grow! I’m hoping the northern lights just go along with whatever GG wants!

Thanks Flyboy ... I would love for her to be a monster!
