New Grower First grow and new to the network...

I love those attachments, i bought a shitload when i needed auxiliary lighting. The fire dept came for a inspection and freaked out when saw those.. told me to go lick an egg.. so now im down to two of those with Y splits just to calm his testosterone! Men in uniform always think they control everything.
I am not proposing this for a grow light just to take pictures by. The 5000K light shows the plants in good color for diagnostic purposes. Just turn off your grow lights and hang this briefly in the space to take the pictures. then remove and continue with your regular grow lights.

Well the tent exploded. The girls have been growing like gangbusters, GG especially. All the new growth looks great. Whatever was ailing them has passed. Here are some new pics.

My pH meter turned out to be off by 0.1. I guess it wasn’t the meter. But I learned an important lesson without it costing me too much ... take care of your pH meter and recalibrate regularly!

I don’t want GG any taller. I’ll probably supercrop her on Monday. I thought she would never get big, yet here she is LOL. No sign of budding, at 46 days. I dropped the lights down from 20/4 to 18/6. If nothing happens in the next week I’ll flip to 16/8 and see if that makes a difference. And so on.

Hope everyone is doing great! Thanks for checking out my grow!

Glad things are going great, DG! GG is looking great! Don’t know if shortening light to anything above 12 hours will make much of a difference. I would recommend keeping it where it is until you want to see if a 12 hour cycle will induce flowering.

I hear ya. I read somewhere that sometimes you can send the message by gradually reducing the light, mimicking the change in season. I’m hoping she’ll get the message at something greater than 12/12, for the sake of the NLs.

I did a quick look through and did not see who's genetics are you running (the seed breeder)?

Hardest thing for a new grower to do emotionally and physically is to super crop a plant to keep it out of the lights. The problem is many new growers as well as all of us end up in that situation indoors sooner or later. Have some grafting PARAFFIN TAPE on hand just in case. 6" lower than you think you should, roll the stem crushing the inside 3 x the diameter of the stem in length between your forefinger and your thumb, then bend the branch over at that pinch. Bend to 90° from the stem or horizontal to the light. If you did not get a good enough interior crush the stem can break usually just on the top. If this happens just wrap with the grafting tape and all will be well. You may need to tie down the bent over top as many branches just lift themselves right back up. A great lesson to teach yourself on your first harvest or any harvest for that matter is to practice super cropping on branches you have harvested. You will get a good feel for what it is to crush and bend without the dread of "Killing a Cola".

Thanks MOG! I’ll take pics before and after (in natural lighting) and post them up so you can see how it turns out. I am growing autos - gorilla glue and northern lights - from Growers Choice.

That GG looks awesome! I bet it’s gonna be a monster by the time it finishes up.

Thanks Wes! I hope she’s a monster and I hope she finishes. I could use a break!
