The only possible negative side for a tent could possibly be hight restriction but as long as you get the right size tent you should be fine. I'm not sure how carbon filters work because I don't use them but I have heard good things about them and they seem to keep the smell down. I think they just suck air into a tube and through a fliter then out another tube and its clean air. so just hook it up in a room with no tent and vent it to the outside of the room and make sure to have another line coming in for fresh air
