New Grower First ever grow, Northern Lights auto. Wish me luck!

Just my :2cents: buddy,
your plant is a beast so maybe just ignore me haha but unfortunately I think you are kind of battling yourself and your plant for harvest.
I was hoping someone who has experienced this would add their input, not sure if reducing your wattage to the light would be better or worse.
However the way I see it; if the buds are foxtailing then they are rapidly making more calyxes off the top, and more new clear trichomes, Rather than finishing the buds it has.
Which I think is why you have some patches of amber and cloudiness but also lots of new clear,
Almost need to do a reverse staged harvest haha get the lower buds around the perimeter that are done and let the ones on top still ripen up?
Of course it is a NL  who knows...
Anyway awesome first plant buddy, regardless of what happens now I'm sure it'll be your best smoke to date
Happy growing and :goodluck:

Oh I think you are spot on, I'll be checking each bud and harvest as they become ready.
She is a beast but her density is also an issue as the buds are both packed together and some are obscured altogether under the canopy, something I was battling for ages with daily defoliation. This means that the lower parts of the visible buds (you only see around the top 30-50% in the pictures) are not getting much light and prob not maturing properly lower down (will end up larfy) I hope when I begin to harvest these visible ones and the ones around the edges that the buds underneath will begin to get some light/space and will be a harvest-able 'second wave' so to speak.

It's all a learning experience though and I should have been less concerned about keeping every top I could and
instead picking fewer that would have ended up creating a less dense canopy where larger buds could develop fully.

For my next grow, I'll also benefit from not doing a timelapse so I can move the plants around more and also try out a different light schedule giving them some down time. Still in two minds as to whether I should go for another single plant in a 3 gallon pot or try two plants in 2 gallon pots... the watering/nute mixing is time consuming and if I run diff strains, they may have diff appetites. Gonna be a fastbuds tho for sure next grow

FWIW

I did defoliate again 3 days ago cause all the lower buds weren't getting light and were way behind the main colas.Since it's my first grow and the NL was taking more time to finish,i was affraid of bud rot which of course i've never seen but read a lot about.
So i removed every leaves that you could see the stem outside of the buds. Now the air can travel way better to the lower sites and those lower buds already look better and more firm.

Wow, she looks great!

I'm not sure doing similar would do me much good to be honest though. Maybe not that clear from the pic below but she's a bit impenetrable and there is no space between the buds even if I could get in there!

Give her a few days, she should put on weight - looks much better, good job!

Day 108: 4L of pH 6.34/648ppm with RO of 1.4L pH 5.99/1240ppm.

Daily trich check... still clear. Test bud out of the wedryer after 4 days and into a jar with a boveda 62% pack, could maybe have gone a day longer but I managed a wee snap on the stem so time to try out a cure.

I would have done the same with my grow but fortunately have lots from my previous photo grow. Hope it goes down smooth and sends you flying.:baked:
