New Grower First ever grow, Northern Lights auto. Wish me luck!

Beautiful setup and plant otherwise ..... Sure hope you get it figured out, don’t give up you’re close brother.

Still hoping that I'm into the final stretch and she'll be ready in the next 2 weeks (100 days)

...and i'll be right here to see how that workz out for ya :coffee: ppp

Thanks @MrOldBoy , for sure not giving up, just having some common new grower difficulties of overfeeding. Think I probably left adding a PK boost a little too late into flowering too.

Day 89: Anyway, after going back to basics and spending a little timetesting nute measurements, I have a better handle on ppms.

It appears that 0.1ml of Canna's CalMag is 50ppm in 1L.
Canna A + B is also 0.1ml each for 50ppm per 1L .

Canna's Cannazyme only adds around 20-30ppm per ml in 1L
Canna's Boost is similar in that 1ml only adds a few ppms per ml in 1L.

Based on this, I'm now adding a lot less nutrients. Read many others say that the feed charts for Canna are way too high but now I know this for myself. I would say that their ppm's are not out but more the ml's that they say will produce the ppms, they are off by more than double when I measure.

My distilled starting water is usually from 1-4ppms.

adding 0.3ml/L of CalMag gets me to around 150ppm.
adding 1.2ml/L of A+B gets me to around 750ppm.
adding 1.2ml/L of Cannazyme is around 780ppm.
adding 2ml/L of Boost is around 800ppm mark.

Given that the leaf damage isn't spreading much anymore, rather than flushing and potentially removing root bacteria, I'm watering to around 50% runoff till the ppms come down in line with the feed.

Today she had watering of 2.5L of pH 6.19/770ppm with 1L RO of pH 6.12/1580ppm. She'll get another 2L later.

Anyway, enough waffle time for the piccy show

First, the weekly environment has been the usual. I'd like to get the RH down from 55-60% more towards 45-50% but turning on the small dehumidifier doesn't do much and pushes the temps up toward 25-26°C so I've just left it for now.

Now for her pretties .... not seeing any cloudy or amber ... feeling impatient about now.

Cannas feeding chart is for photo plants aint it? I started at 1/4 their recommended feed with no issues even in the seedling stage, interesting over the ppms and how much they increase as i noticed if i put 6ml a&b 2 ml calmag per 3lL water my ph is at 5.9 tested all week and it was the same since then iv stopped testing and no issues yet.

Your girl is really big now aint she how tall is she?

Seems the nutrient companies like to up their products useage to cover the strains that are the biggest feeders. I have dropped the recommended dosage of Remo nutes to 1/4 for my autos as well and they have settled down nicely.
I would think it works against companies to have recommendations too high as people will think the nutes are no good in some cases when plants show stresses.
Just a thought.

the NL looks real good in spite of the leaves showing some off color.

@Epicxr yeah, the pH levels are ok when I followed the feeding charts, just the ppms end up way higher if you actually use the amount of feed they suggest than what they state they would be for those amounts. With the lower ppms that are actually in line with their feed charts, I'm having to pH up the feed now.
The feed charts are for photo's but they do have the 'stages' that can translate to autos too

She's somewhere around 16-18" tall and not far off filling the tent (24"x24"), bit tricky to measure tho.

@JohnEMad Thanks, I think she's coping well with my mistreatment!

I'm sure it is tricky to provide a one size fits all feeding chart but they do seem to be on the high side if you read up on them around the web and as you say, every plant is gonna be diff, some will need lots of feed and some very little. It's ultimately a weed though so it should thrive on little food I would say.

Im gonna give megacrop a run next time myself its annoying mixing solutions twice a day

I know what you mean. I have improved the speed at which I mix everything but it is rather time consuming.
Might investigate some less intensive methods like autopots after I've got a couple of grows under my belt.
