New Grower First ever grow - auto critical feminised (will probably need lots of advice please)

Thx Gregblex :)

Quick update - I put the heating on earlier this afternoon and the temp's gone up in the closet to 23C/73.4 F and humidity down to 58 tonight ... hopefully it'll keep going lower and I swear she's grown since I took pics this afternoon

You'll be amazed how fast they grow. I'm on my first grow as well I can't believe how quick it's gone. You can check out my pics here: https://www.autoflower.org/f44/my-first-auto-my-first-grow-15673.html

Oh..well hello gal. Didn't realize that and was calling you 'man'. Anywho...

What about the ceiling for exhaust? You'd need a round 4-6 inch depending on what fan you have. Then either another hole or vent in the door for intake of fresh air from the bedroom or leaving the door open partially, but that's annoying because of the light and sound coming into the bedroom.

The air purifier won't take care of the smells, it will get stinky too when she goes into flower. :D I suggest a god fan and carbon filter combo and you'd be set.
Oh and trust me...I am broke as a joke, a lot of us are, ya just gotta get by until you can get your whole setup. For now you can just leave that door open.

Also, I recommend trying to get your temps up, which is funny because it's usually the other way around and trying to get the down. Ideal growth temp is 79-80 degrees in my opinion. Higher 50-75% humidity during veg and lower 20-40% for flowering.

Beyond all that your plant looks great! Keep it going and let me know if you need anything. :D

Thanks both :D

Yeah, I don't know whether it's because the single 105w CFL doesn't put out much heat? It's a mahoosive bulb but is only slightly warm to the touch and with the fan going for exhaust that's bringing the temp down although drying out the soil slowly too.

I should've mentioned that I live in a flat, although the mental image of carving a hole in my ceilling/upstairs neighbour's bedroom floor was quite amusing :twist:. So yeah, I think it'll be a little while til I can get the exhaust/filter set up in there but I've found this that I think would be a good start on ebay, when I can afford it? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-Line-Fa...arden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item1c2063be54 It can even be wired to a regular UK 3-pin plug so I don't have to worry about wiring.

She's looking better I think since I took pics two days ago. There's been no leaf curl since the initial 2 and 3 blade leaves, which I'm pleased about. I also bit the bullet late last night and decided to do a little gentle lst:

One other thing, I was just checking the drainage holes and noticed some roots there, right at the bottom ... is that normal?

Sorry, more questions :o

I've been thinking about the heat/humidity issue as it's still only about 73F in there and humidity 58-60, would something like an electric tubular greenhouse heater help or would it be better to be thinking along the lines of a mini dehumidifier (which would also kick out a small amount of heat)? The first option's cheaper and probably fit better in the closet.

Sorry for all the questions, any ideas ... anyone?

Hey hey. Sorry. I had totally typed up this response yesterday morning on my runs before work and then somehow pressed select all and backspace so there that went.
Anyways...Yes that type of fan setup is what you want, but that price scares me. You get what you pay for with those. You don't want the fan going out and coming home to cook/suffocated plants and/or the filter to bum out and makes your flat smell like straight ganja. I would look for known brand. I can steer you to some if you'd like.

Roots at the holes is normal. They're trying to get out! No they just hit the air and got air pruned so it's just a root end. No worries there.
I think we should just leave the temp thing alone for now. It's in the 70s and your plant is growing well. Higher humidity is good for veg stage and lower for flowering to prevent mold. Your RH is fine too. Keep rockin'!

Here's an easy fix to the temp. More light! :D Another bulb will benefit you when she gets bigger anyway and bring the temp up. :D

Thank you Squidy  and yes please if you could steer me to some known brands please, although it was the price that attracted me :o

Phew that's good news about the roots. Not so good news on the light front, my 105w 2700k bulb arrived today ... in thousands of pieces, damn seller didn't even mark it as fragile so I sent them a pissy email and hope to get a refund or replacement quicksmart :hot:. Would you recommend getting another 6400k to boost her light atm or should the 2700k be alright, when I get a working one?

Two large cfl like that for one plant are great. Mixed spectrum great. When you get it replaced(and damn that sucks, sorry) then you should be set. It's possible that if she gets real big you could throw in a couple smaller cfl or T5 for side lighting. Not a must though.

http://www.plantlightinghydroponics.com/active-air-165-cfm-in-line-duct-fan-p-2755.html >>>That one is a Hydrofarm fan. Five year warranty and the one I use. Good fan in my opinion. $67
Bigger 6 inch option is only 80. Quality stuff. Look on that same site for the Phresh or Phat carbon filter matching the size fan you get. Both are great filters. I use the Phat. No issues.

A company called Vortex makes good fans too. As well as Ruck, but I think they're a little higher in price. That site I listed in the link is a great site with good products, prices and service.

Someone else may chime in with a fan that they use. I know that there are a few more I am missing or just don't know about. Talk to you later. :D

Aww I'm gutted about your lights and feel your pain my baby had to wait 2weeks before she got her 125W cfl but rocketing up. That bulb keeps her at about 27oC which I thinks bang on. Good luck and many positive vibes
