Indoor [First EVER Grow] 2x Mephisto Genetics Auto Blues in DIY Box

Man I'm so envious of people who's plants go into flower that early. That upskirt shot of the light is pretty, looks like lots of those disco light things together :)

Yea man I'm also a little nervous; (first grow, not best start, had troubles, now evening things out) she's really small still so not sure what to expect at all; maybe a micro grow in a solo cup would have done ;-) haha j/k. I'm just going to keep going with her and giving her some extra love for the rest of the time. Got the music going 24/7 and seems to make her happy. Thanks for keeping updated and im still building out the grow space. :)

Ok, cool set up. Your led is not the most powerful, but you will do a good grow with it. LOVE THE LED, and i love people who tries it.

-------------------------------------------
NOW YOU ARE GOING TO DIE
-------------------------------------------
Your light is far too close from the plant, how can you seek for stretch then ?
-------------------------------------------

Lets say, you have a 400W Light ok ?
Its told you have to be at 16inch from the canope.
Ok, but what they do not mention, is, you have to be 16inch above your canope ON FLOWERING STAGE.
So for the seedlings it will be at 35inch minimum. And 24inch minimum during veg.

That's for a 400W, but this is the same for almost every light. Take the limit, double it, take the difference, and divide it. (40cm x 2 = 80cm -> 40cm % 2 = 20 cm -> 80cm - 20cm = 60cm). Thats what i do when i first buy a Grow Light, it helps learning how your plants react)

It is just to warn you !

To germinate a seed. Buy a bottle of tap water at your grocery shop, take a glass, put them into it, wait for them to drown (few hours), take a paper towel, soak it, wrunt it, put the seed into it. Take two plates. Put the papers on it, and recover it with the other plate. Wait for a day or two. And it's ready to sprout. Worked every time for me, you don't need sorcerer tricks. You are not a witch.

Thats maybe too early for a LST, but I like it. It will make them stronger, and bushy.

Don't feed them for now. Water will do. Your soil can has every thing the plant needs for 2-3 weeks, depends on what your using, sometimes more.

Keep it up ! You're gonna have a cool grow.

Notes Below

Question 1:
Her leaves are starting to curl under on the sides and tips pretty much on all the leaves now (see pic). I'm not sure what is could be besides N? Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this before it gets worse? Also I noticed a new spot on her that is rusty / yellow color on one of the older / bigger fan leaves.

Question 2: A few people have told me to remove the big fan leaves on the bottom layer to allow new growth and give more energy to the new nodes....Keep or remove them?

I don't know about [HASHTAG]#1[/HASHTAG] but as for [HASHTAG]#2[/HASHTAG]: If they don't shadow out the shoots below don't remove 'em; Especially not if your plant is sick.

Have you stopped by the infirmary yet?

November 14th / Day 28 from sprout:

Time: 8:27 am

Strain: Mephisto Auto Blues
Schedule: 20 On / 4 Off (1pm-5pm)
Day Temp: 82F / 21% RH (Put in a humidifier but seems to be broken; not working at all, may try humidity tray?)
Lights Out: 70F / 49% RH
Height: 5.7 Inches
Width: 12.6 Inches
Light: 28"
Water: 0 oz.
Nutes: 0

It seems that N tox is the issue with the plant. Leaves curling under more all over and getting a little crispy.. so going to have to get that taken care of (next watering will be sometime this evening as pot is pretty light now.

Im going to flush her tonight when she wakes up to hopefully clear some of the Nitrogen out.

Tried leaf tucking the big fan leaves although not gonna work.

Sorry about the sideways pictures im not sure why it uploads them like that... They dont appear sideways on my phone and I dont take the pictures sideways... :-(

What soil are you using, are you sure it's good for cannabis ?

Honestly, it is really hard to get a N tox at this stage, since N is one of the only thing they need to stretch and create stems and leaves. You might be overwatering your plants.

My actual plants are photos, and they only drink after 1 month of veg, 50cl of water per day. This is just an example, but at seedling stage I'm not really giving them that much, approximatively 5cl maximum during the first week. Mostly because during this stage, your plant is focusing on growing her main roots. These roots will maintain your plant up all along your grow. She is not drinking a lot of water. The roots needs air not to die, that's why you use aerated soil with perlites/coco fiber/etc.

It is better to give a small amount of water every day, it allows you to understand how fast she is drinking. Water in the morning, wait for it do dry out (next morning), and then water again, slowly increasing the amount of water.

Be sure to check your PH and EC/ppm levels if you are doing all those things right.

But i can tell for sure that your seedlings are overwatered, your flash light is making a disco ball of your soil ! Did you drill holes in those pots ?

Do mistakes, that's basically how you learn :thanks:

AUTOBLUES UPDATE

Alright; so I may have just killed her; if I did, it really sucks yet everything is a learning experience and hopefully she pulls through.

The soil she was in was a base random soil in a coco pot then outside of the coco pot was Miracle Grow 3 month as its all I had at the time and couldn't afford to order the FFHF on Amazon. Her roots grew into the Miracle grow by the time I got the Fox Farms so I figured it may be best to leave her. (which ended up not being the best choice).

This start was totally spontaneous and i just got started with nothing at all and built everything as I went. Then got to where we are today. I know not the best way at all to start; yet it is what it is and its the only way I could bring myself to get started growing.

With that said....

I think the Miracle Grow 3 month was killing her and most likely she would have died if I kept her in there the rest of the time. I will take my chances..

A few people told me I need to get her out of the Miracle Grow asap. Just a little bit ago my new 3 gallon smart pots arrived in the mail from amazon. I took the opportunity to transplant her (I've know this since day one not to transplant yet I didn't have everything right to start. Just would have never started if I didn't jump is all and I would still be reading journals.

Long story short Now she is in all Fox Farms Happy Frog soil in a 3 gallon smart pot. Her roots were looking great (wish I could have got a pic but no one to take it). They reached the bottom of the plastic pot and were starting to wrap around the sides a lot.

I flushed the soil a few times and had the soil at tent temperature before I transplanted her. She is stressed TF out now im sure and looking droopy as to be expected from the transfer and wet soil. Lights just turned off for the next 4 hours so hopefully she will get a little rest and her roots will start to hit the new "HAPPY" soil. As one can only hope.

****************************

The seedlings have only been watered once on November 10th at 12:23 am. (4 days ago) Each seedling was given 5ml of water each, there are holes on the bottom of the cups to allow drainage. They have been under Saran Wrap ever since to keep the humidity up during this time which is why the soil may still be wet. I can take this off I guess although humidity is relatively low at this point. It is opened up twice a day for awhile during the day to add new fresh air inside the tiny greenhouse..

The seedlings were unexpected and brought over by a friend. The disco effect could be from the water bottles they are in not sure... They will be planted in their final pots in the next few days which the soil will be as follows:

3 Gallon Smart Pots

Top Layer:
1/4 Black Gold Potting Soil mixed with
1/4 Fox Farms Happy Frog
------------------------
1/2 Kind Soil

"Adding 3% Clay Pellets throughout the entire mixture to allow air and moisture to aerate the soil and water to drain better"- Jorge Cervantes

Will be adding pictures later after Lights On.

if jumping in head first unprepared unplanned was the only way to get you growing, then you done the right thing.
