Hey guys this is my first auto grow and im looking for a bit of advice.

Im using 1200w Gro X5 5w led light from led fusion. i also have a 240w Gro x5 5w led and the new light from grow northern but the 2 latter will be used in flower for extra light.

I have an 8 pot autopot system with air domes.

Medium coco and clay pebbles 50/50 mix roughly

growing 5 think different and 3 autoxtreme.

I put the seeds in slightly too deep so they took about 5 days to all break through. The 1200w light is a bit extreme for seedlings but at the time of starting it was the only light i had.

the light has a grow and bloom switch so with the grow switch only on its more of the blue spectrum.

Im on day 29 now and although the plants are looking healthy, size wise though they are quite small, hardly any vertical growth.

When i have compared to some others pictures on here, their plants in day 10 12 are about the size of mine on day 29!

I only watered 3 times from the top the first 2 weeks then turned the reservoir on.

They are now on about quarter strength veg nutes from vitalink.

Any ideas as to why they are so small would be appreciated. I will post some pics i just took to show size

Cheers guys

Hey bro, I also use Autopots with the airdomes. You are right those are definitely looking very small for day 29, the fact that they are all pretty consistent in size leads me to believe it's either something with your setup or environment.

Firstly, you say this is your first auto grow... but do you have experience growing photos previously and have you used these Autopot systems before? Secondly, what are the min/max temps and RH in your grow room... cold temperatures can obviously be a cause for slow growth. Also make sure the water in your res is not too cold either, when I refill my res I turn off the valves and wait several hours for it to get back to room temp before turning on again. And are you running the airdomes 24/7? They should only be running while your lights are on so you're not pumping cold air into the pots.

The good news is they do look healthy so once you figure out what's causing the slow growth I'm sure you can still get the most out of these... it will just take a bit longer.

Also, I do have a couple suggestions for your next grow. It is better use the clay pebbles as just a bottom layer (around 1") then mix your soil or coco with 30-50% perlite. Also I wait until about 3 weeks before turning the autopots on.

Anyways, I hope you can get this sorted out. The autopots/airdome combo can give some crazy good results. You can check out my current grow in my sig... here's a quick pic of one of mine from day 26 for comparison tho.

Wot size is your extraction and your intake fan? whats your min/max temps, and humidity levels also maybe try some extra co2 that will help

Ive just done a td grow and like u said uve seen, mine were that size at 10-12 days above ground. Do u use a ph pen? And an EC meter? These are crucial! Maybe the ph has been out and its shocked the rootzone? Get some advanced nutrients re-vive and some cannazym or another brand enzyme.
I would flush each plant with 3x the pot volume of ph 5.6 declorinated water. Then check the final run off of each 1 until its 5.6, on the ph pen, same as you were flushing with
Once you have done that, wait a few days till they're dry enough for another feed then give them a feed of 50% strength rhizotonic and cannazym or equivalent other brand, ph'd again at 5.6.
That is what I would do as well as making certain that, Temps, humidity, ec, ph, air quality, fresh air is laden with co2. And I think you will see an improvement in them.

hey hansbricks. i have done a few grows previous to this my temps are fine, i have a heater in the room it keeps the temperature steady and its never been an issue in previous grows.

i've always used the autopots, first time with the airdomes but didnt switch them on till day 24 or 25 and the room temperature doesn't fluctuate it stays more or less the same temp with the led light off so it is never blowing cold air.

this is my first auto grow though. only thing i've done differently this grow is i soaked the seeds in halo foliar for 10 mins as some research suggested that seed soaking in that can give enhanced results. the humidity is a bit on the low side it fluctuates from 30% to 40% but it hasnt been an issue for me before. your plant is looking sweet for day 26.

im just scared the plants will go in to flower before they have grown to a decent size

spliffy my extraction is a 6" fan. i dont use an intake fan is i grow in my loft and there it is well ventilated. with normal photos i have never had any issues at all. the only difference is i've changed heaters and the humidity is lower than normal it ranges between 30% and 40%

my temperature stays between 23-24c. my ph is fine always between 5.6-5.8

Im struggling to see where else im going wrong

As a new grower I can tell you what ive noticed in my short time. I started my first plants under a mars II 700 and although healthy, they grew incredibly slow, looked much like yours. After about 30 days they exploded in size. My 2nd batch I started one under led and one under 23w cfl with reflector. Though they progressed at the same speed developing leaves, the cfl plant was easily 2x the size in every way as the led plant. After 2 weeks I ended experiment and bought 2nd cfl. Now at 22 days the led plant isnt too far behind.

Long story short, try a cheap clamp on light and a 6000k cfl and see if one stretches. I think the super bright led doesnt encourage the plant to grow a ton at first because it can absorb so much light with small leaves?:dunno:

hey brich999, my last grow using the led the plants grew like monsters in veg under the light, i did lower it a bit this time then when i noticed the slow growth i raised it back up.

If the light is too intense i thought they would be drooping down cowering from the light, but there's no sign of that. could maybe be doing with raising it a bit higher again. i want to get the humidity up and see if that helps. i wouldnt be overly concerned about the slow growth if it was photos, im just concerned they start producing buds when the plants are tiny

day 35 they are filling out nicely but still no vertical height. they are only about 5 or 6 inches in height!

bought a humidifier a few days ago so everything in the environment is fine now, i have no idea why they are not growing vertically

Day 38 ph fine, temps fine, feed fine, humidity still a bit lower than i would like but not low enough to be an issue and still slow growth.

if anyone has any ideas i'd really like to know!!!
