Hey Snootch, No problem Bro, I just got impatient after 3 days and saw what you wrote about slicing it, you didnt tell me to do it, and I think I went too deep, still hasnt popped. And the sprout has 2 very tiny true leaves forming, but Should have been bigger than this, the yellowing is getting worse, and the light is totaly drying out the dirt so I have no choice but to water, hope she makes it, I moved it another inch away just incase its just too much heat, had the CFL praticaly touching the dirt

Ahh i get ya. It's hard when things don't go to plan but don't worry. You will get there soon enough. I only have 10 months experience but I always start my seeds straight into soil. Some people soak them, some bite them, some people slice them. Whatever works for you I guess. I waited 6 days for my last seeds to sprout but they all came through. I might try the soaking method next time around.

Hey jhn, are you misting the little yellowing seedling? It might help. They like a lot of humidity. Not a dome though, they need lots of good air. My lights dry the soil up real quick too. So I just mist the little ones and the top layer of soil often. Then when the soil is dry two knuckles deep, I give them a sip.

OK, been a couple days, sorry about the delayed post. Deer season is over in 2 days so I had to go and get a deer before it was over. Anyway, the last Time I posted I didnt think the new sprout would make it, but as you can see from the pic, it formed its first set of real leafs. Just been misting it until it gets a bit bigger. This is the lowryder#2 for the party cup grow. Put another Ak seed to germ 2 days ago since I ruined the first seed by splitting it with a razor, and the new seed hasnt cracked, 2 days now. These smaller seeds are a bitch, atleast for me. Im wondering if I should just get the whole Jiffy seed starting kit with dome and heat mat and peat pellets to germ seeds. I have some of those wool cubes too, should I maybe dampen one, put the seed in it and wrap the cup with plastic wrap for humidity? Keep it in dark

Ok the AK seed popped and my lowryder sprout is getting a second set of leafs so it looks like we're off to a good start!

Glad to hear your seeds sprouted. Don't worry if the first couple of days seem a little slow. They speed up once they get a couple of sets of leaves out.

what's worked for me thrice is just put the seeds in a small glass of water, wait 8 - 9 hrs and put them to soil, just barely covering them. Soil is moist and some cfl warmth from the top. In the cab with the whole shaboodels where it's warm. Just keep the soil moist with my spray bottle till they peek through. Then just give them little sips of water and make sure the humidity is up. I'm sticking to this method, I guess.

Thanks noods, and the second Ak seed hasnt sprouted, I thought it split but it didnt. Was wondering if I should just get myself one of those Jiffy starter kits with dome and heat mat with the peat pellets. I have no problem growing them, just dont have any luck germing them, atleast not the smaller seeds......Below is todays pic of the Lowryder sprout, shes doin great, todays she's 7 days old!
