Yes. The less leaves you have the less light the plant receives, regardless of your light source. Think about it i know it sounds crazy but its counter-productive. Modify the canopy structure without removing too much leaf (its your energy store and accumulator) use the tec's Noods pointed out mate :D

Nothing to back this up except stoner logic.

Top a cannabis plant and it grows two top colas, top each one of those and they grow two each. Cut off a leaf and 2 more grow back, (using some energy that otherwise woulda went into budding). Let the leaf die off then pull it before it drops doesn't stimulate new leaf growth to replace as far as i can tell. So try not to pull any leaf until it's gone past the stage where it is doing anything for the plant. Stems go a little yellow, softer and can just be nudged off the plant. If you have to pull it then your stressing and making it wanna grow two more to replace it.

Thanks Noods, Trifid and Riz, I appreciate the info. I'll put an update and some pics of the ladies a little later, just wanted to get some opinions on how the new cab is coming out. I went with 4 elbows, so I have 4 intakes as you can see in the pic. I also finished the light fixture. I didnt use rain gutters like in the plans I found here, I used sheet metal and bent the last inch over hang over. Should I paint the metal white or leave it. I have 4 bolts, (eye Hooks in each corner with chains so I can hang it from the ceiling inside, and with the chain and hooks it should be easy to adjust height when I have to. Just waiting for the paint to dry so I can put seal on the door and if the elbows look ok to everyone Im gonna glue them in place. I turned them sideways, straight out takes up too much room. I also cut a 4 inch hole in the ceiling so when the fan gets here Im ready for it. On the light fixture, should I drill a bunch of holes between the bulbs so the exhaust in the ceiling pulls air also through the fixture. Im also putting a power strip on each wall and got some plug in sockets for moveable side lighting. So how do you think its looking so far????

awesome mate, well done. will be a work of art by the time yer done. I like your diy reflector. what size bulbs have ye got for it? tell yer mrs to keep her eye out for cfl's in the bargain bins going for pennies, i picked up a bunch of 42 watters for 10p each a while back.

Lookin good jhn. Cool light fixture! I'd leave the metal alone and not paint it. I would also drill some holes as a heat vent, as you mentioned. Something like two 1/4 " - 3/8 " holes between all the bulbs.

Make sure your paint's very dry before you put your plants in there. Mine wasn't completely dry (even though it was dry to the touch!) when I put mine in after it was finished and I was fighting with humidity till it was dry for real. They're not going to outgrow your other cab any time soon, so you have time to do some good quality test runs. I think it's very important for you to do some test runs so you'll know if your passive intake/s and your exhaust setup is/are good to go.

Alright there Noods. I have to wait and order my fan possible in the next 3 days, so Im sure it will be plenty dry, I also have to pick up some soil and some calibration fluid so it will have plenty of time to dry, once its dry to the touch Im caulking all the seems. Keepin fingers crossed that this works as efficient as I hope, plus I had alot of help on this one;). As far as the lighting I was going to go all veg cfl's, they are the 23 watt ones I believe, there will be 12 of them. I have plenty of 40 watt flower cfls, but someone told me on here that they did better with just the veg bulbs. I was going to close off the top of the light and kinda make a sealed area ontop, drill holes between the lights and on the top of the box I was gonna put to PC fans....Over kill, or can I just get away with the holes? Its heavy as it is.

Noods, How much worm casting in a stocking should I do to how much water. And I'll be using the water as a spray, and the rest thats left in the stocking I'll put ontop of soil? Do I just bubble it in a bucket or boil it on the stove, or simmer not boil

The fans on the light fixture would be overkill dude, unless you just want to do it cuz it's cool, then go for it! It's your toys! :smoke:

You can experiment with the worm castings. For a foliar, go real light. I've never given mine a worm castings foliar, but many people do. Real light because you don't want to mess up your photosynthesis. I'd start with about 1 tsp per 1/2 gallon water and se how it looks after 12 hrs of brewing. I'd want it to look like a very light green tea. 'Cept it will probably look like a light red/brown tea. Just discolored a little bit.

By brewing, I mean bubbling. Hang the stocking in the jug or whatever and the air-stone down under it so the stocking gets all the bubbles and let it sit and work 12 hrs, preferably in your cab to keep it the same temp as your plants. By all means, add the mud from the stocking to the soil if you want. Try letting it dry a little before you do or it's a bitch to spread around. Or even easier- make a "sludge" from the leftovers and "pour" it over. The girls won't complain about it.

Edit: Make sure your foliar feed pH is between 6.2 and 6.8. :peace:

Can someone tell me if any of this would benefit me over the FF nutes? Someone just gave me this, its all new

I have a slight problem maybe someone can help me find a salution to. This whole dresser is built and ready. I just went on to order a fan and the only fan I can find is like 7 inches deep by 9 and change high. I only have 8 inches in my top area. What the hell am I gonna do, I cant rip it apart, I'll destroy it with the glue I used

will a bathroom cieling fan work if you
mount the grill in the roof of the grow chamber
then,..mount the filter to the fan exhaust...
a hole at the top rear of the 8" chamber will
have filtered air coming out.
