New Grower Finally after 5 year of waiting, decided it's time for a new Grow.

Yup, you've been keeping the nutes on the high side. I would tone it down a bit, but on the other hand...You're nearly there, so...Good growing. The plant looks like it's going to produce you some mighty fine smoke for later đź‘Ś

Oh and I would go with @Corum59's advise. Water only for a couple of waterings. Add some Bactrex for the first watering, next one you do plain water, next one add some Orgatrex to the Bactrex to boost them and then only water until you see the clawing disappear. đź‘Ś

Thanks Bob, on the third watering how much orgatrex, I'm growing in 10 litres pots?
also do you want me to add bactrex in third watering with orgatrex?

Thanks mate for looking in. :d5:

Well the yellow leaves are now getting brown patches, dying and curling, spreading to other larger fan leaves.
She still looks mostly dark green, like as been mentioned, I'll stick to the plan and see how I get on. Hoping for the best, she is starting to smell a bit more, so that's encouraging.
One thing that's puzzling me,
I am using organic nutrients, I didn't think you could overfeed with organic nutrients.
Also I only upped the feed by 1ml, so she got 6ml of bio pk in 3 litres of water.
It does look like the last feed has upset her though.

I use organic nutes on my balcony, over feeding happens, as with over watering the results are the same, dying leafs,

if a few days of drying out and less watering with only plain water doesnt do the trick, and Bobs advice doesnt help, then start looking at other possible issues. Gotta have patience when trying to find issues, so many problems look like other problems.

Over watering can be either too much at a time or too often (and the effect is very similar to under watering)... in which case a bit of root damage might kick in, add some extra nutes to that and the cascade effect starts to happen.

checking the weight of the pot by lifting it, is the best way to know if it needs water imho, if its light give it a slow watering, give the soil time to absorb the liquid bit by bit
If it feels heavy and cool/damp dont water.

if it looks like the last feed upset her, thats where you start your thinking, possibly a bit too much, so a couple of of plain water days will fix that.

gotta remember its a weed, in the wild it grows in some of the most inhospitable places and still gets through its life cycle.

do I want to water to run off when I water?

Here's the thing on that, One of the hings I learned when I started using these grow bags is that they have a tendency to let water run out faster than the soil can soak it up... I found that I had large areas in the soil that were bone dry, even after getting loads of runoff. Something to be very aware of.

Covention says water until you get some run off, but if the bag allows the water to run out before the soil is soaked, its not a good measurement.

I would suggest that you use some kind of passive drip feed system (I have found this to be best, takes about 30mins to deliver 1.5ltrs)
or take your time and water a bit at a time in a circle that is equally away from the center and the sides,
or let the bag stand in a tray until it stops soaking up the water.
Hence the weight test. once you have an idea of what the plant and soil weighs after a good soak. it makes life much easier, easier to judge and will help alleviate any watering issues that might popup.

Thanks again Corum, like you say a drip system would be best. I don't have one at the moment as you can tell :coffee2:
I do try and water slowly, but nowhere near as slow as 30 mins for 1.5 litres. I usually water around 3 litres in 35 mins or so.
But I will take your advice and slow it down more and water more towards the middle of the pot in a circle.

I agree that this grow bag gets run off quickly, after 3 litres there is run off, either out of the side or the bottom.
I was watering all around the bag, not as you suggested.
I'll water a litre slowly round the centre, take a break, come back weigh, etc until I get some run off.

I don't have a deep tray that would work.
I'll have a look around see if I can pick one up.
Thanks again

Using a pump sprayer has really helped me with watering. Especially in grow bags. They usually have liter measurements on them too. Helps spread the water before it even hits the soil. Also in organic soil I really like to use a wetting agent or surfactant like yucca powder. Helps to rehydrate any dry spots that might be in the soil. It’s also beneficial for soil biology, so it’s a win win in my book.

I use a pump sprayer too R Wayne.
I did put in some yucca last time too.
Haha.
I've got a saucer to sit her on I'll bottom water for a bit see how much she's drinking.
